Re: Purchase a striker in January?
Didn’t think Joel seemed that quick tbh. Once he got his legs sorted and had a 5 or 10 yard run at it he WAS quick. But then again he was up against Richard Keogh! When we came up with Andre (who to us seemed rapid) in the first few games someone like Jonny Evans or Richard Huth coasted up alongside...

Re: Purchase a striker in January?
Stats I saw had Vydra around 1/160 odd with Wood at over 1/400. Might not be PL stats alone but you can only go off actual games played. As for Barnes, he wasn’t even in the runnng. Vydra should be playing. Have to factor in the quality of minutes played. Wood starts we’ve had all week for a plan p...

Re: ARTICLE: Former Claret Austin back at QPR
Austin will always score goals, There were questions over his legs when we had him! It’s just about at what level he’ll score them and with who. Proven finisher who will use his nous and become a bit more of a “goal hanger” Any team that consistently gets the ball in the danger area and doesn’t rely...

The last 5 years has seen a shift in focus regarding the younger players. They will skip the old route now of college and mls and go straight to academies and teams in Europe. This wasn’t encouraged until Klinnsman took over the national team. He basically said you’re never going to be any good unle...

I used to look forward to when they brought out the new fold up poster each year with all the new teams and kits and I’d pore through it seeing who was what. I think that both Son and Gareth Bale are better footballers than Kane. Not necessarily as effective (although you can’t really argue about Bale’s credentials) but better players nonetheless. You’re probably right that Harry Kane would get into most teams in the world, though, because he is very ef...

Played for the Morris Dancers on a Sunday for a couple of seasons after I moved back up here. Watching Shaqiri today. He’s had 10 minutes of premier league footie all year. I don’t know if it was messageboard speculation before but surely he’d fill a number of roles and we could be crafty with the wages like we did with Joe Hart.

You clearly have never played the game. Yes players cheat, but if you’re moving at pace, the slightest of touches on one leg ensures it hits the other and down you go. Pogba got tripped. A clear penalty. People saying he tripped himself up are talking nonsense. Players ...

That's where VAR should come into it's own, but as we know to our cost they rarely intervene and overrule the officials.
