Re: Everton points deduction reduced
Completely agree with this. Straight relegation is the only way to stop financial cheating. This is barely a slap on the wrist; fortunately it probably benefits us. May benefit us massively if any compo is agreed, and if we can come back stronger, because next season in the PL could be brutal, wors...

Re: ALK’s Strategy: Are We Witnessing A Failing Experiment?
The original post is very good. In reality, the much-heralded ALK 'project' is nothing new or innovative in any way- literally every club outside the Big Six in England and almost all clubs around the world are selling clubs. The idea of bringing in regular revenue by selling talent at a profit is ...

Re: Everton points deduction reduced
Do you think those 6 points will make a blind bit of difference to our league position? We aren't getting relegated because of Everton, we're being relegated because of ourselves. Nonsense. We are getting relegated because we had to be stripped to the bone in May 2022 because of Everton and the Pre...

So, in brief: Season 1: Spend more than the rules allow to stay up at the expense of Club X, who are playing by the rules. Season 2: again spend more than the rules allow, this time to purchase players from the club X (such as Dwight McNeil), at reduced rate as their players wish to stay in the top...

Re: Everton points deduction reduced
Been telling people for weeks a way will be found to get rid of Luton (in our interests sadly). Surely though this strengthens our compensation argument now the appeal has left guilt and ‘some’ punishment? That could be key to the “project” remaining viable to have an expensive squad and bounce stra...

Re: ALK’s Strategy: Are We Witnessing A Failing Experiment?
The Analytical Kompany that is alluded to in the OP - I have no idea if this rumour is true or false but if true it would be national news really, something a broadsheet or TV media would latch onto and link to our performances. What amazes me then is as far as I know there hasn’t been a single ques...

Re: REPORT: A long day out and another defeat
I've not seen anything at all on that decision on the Sky/BBC highlights but you always have to assume an offside is correct The interfering by a third part though (as in this case) is a subjective call (as with Endo for Liverpool today) so he may have been off but deemed not interfering despite Tr...

Blocking is not allowed, or at least shouldn’t be. Think the defender is allowed to mark a zone or move into a zone, but isn’t allowed to charge, trip or jump at another player. The reason it is allowed is because when you have short-arses like we do, they have to have a way to defend a corner. Yes...

Funny how the national anthem booing lot had their bubble burst by VAR, but let’s be fair it was a shocker. These days if there is a way to disallow a goal VAR will find it, makes a mockery of celebrating and enjoying the moment. Killing the game and takes away far more joy than the justice it can b...

Think Pace is very naive when it comes to football Not as naive as many on this thread. Sticking with Vincent may be the wise (and cheapest) move. The other thing that is corrupt about this league, is that the young 30 year old ref on a work experience placement / trial (2nd game in the PL) is hardly going to upset the “company” by overruling a VAR senior official. Interesting that the freezeframe shows the keeper is not getting that ball so it is a goal. Yet VAR denies it.
Would have been 2-1 if we take the offside at the other end too (clearly interfering) but don’t worry, it will level up by the end of the season

What I don’t like about this club though, and this messageboard, is the singling out of 18, 19, 20, 21 year old players. We should be better than that as supporters. Players like Odobert will have quiet games at his age. He is a talent.

On the plus side, Everton under an experienced manager and with better players are at mid table BHA and had 0 shots at half time too.
This is a tough league and unfortunately it looks like many of us need a season below to further develop, probably including Vincent who I would keep 100%.

100% red.
Probably worst performance of season so far.
Brownhill now missing 1 or 2 games so a brainless decision from the captain given Trafford could have made the save.
Really does sum up our season in 5 seconds.

Brings back memories but it was the departure of him and others, and the arrival of the next crop like Paterson and Thompson, which sent us to where we now are.

It's a shame that we'll never know how our promotion team from last season would have done in the Premier League. Agree. A shame. But the manager clearly thinks they would have failed so really who are we to doubt him? We can see Beyer, Cullen and Brownhill have struggled, to name just 3 examples.
