Jack Butland at Rangers is better than both Trafford and Muric.
Sometimes it's not that difficult this management thing.
I like Butland and he's doing well north of the border - but Butland cannot do what VK wants from his goalkeeper...
(not many can).

Exactly this. Who would use the Sheff United keeper as a defence - they are the only team who have been sh-itter than us !! Those who thought Muric was the answer have been made to look a bit stupid. That does not mean he did not deserve a chance to play as he certainly did. But those who have said...

I have to say that as an ex goalkeeper I would expect to be dropped for the 2 errors There's literally 0 point in doing so at this point. If anything, we need to throw even more caution to the wind on the off chance that we win 3+ of our remaining games. We will only win taking big chances and tryi...

You also realise this “better run” we’ve been on has been against 0 sides in the top 6. Muric has to be dropped, he’s nowhere near good enough, this leagues hard enough without having a keeper prone to an absolute clanger. Like I said you won’t see another PL goalkeeper make those same 2 mistakes, ...

What a pile of utter tosh, you mean Muric should be dropped because he’s made two awful amateur level mistakes that have cost us points. Mistakes so bad, you won’t see another like them all season unless Muric does it again. Weird Burnley fans can’t accept they were harsh on Trafford after seeing h...

I find it crazy how 90% of this board is based on kompany decision making and selections and yet when he finally changes the keeper and we have our best run of results (all be it not much to shout about) people can’t understand how important muric is It really is this simple. I blame social media/s...

Don't have a problem with wanting Muric back in. I did. You were relentless in your criticism of Trafford. Relentless. Your tone would've been far different had Trafford, or Traff, made the error that Muric made today. Because I was frustrated watching us serve up that dross week in week out when I...

His central point is accurate. You have agenda against Traffford and you couldn't wait to criticise him. You've campaigned against Trafford more than anyone on here. For the 10,000th time My 'agenda' is wanting players to play that: - Did nothing to be warranted being dropped in the first place - A...

It’s defined by 38 games and the key points in those games. Can’t change those goalposts to support a view.
It is defined by 38 games - you are correct.
He's played in just 5 of the 33 games we've played, had 2 poor mistakes yes, yet 3 other extremely good performances.

Show me a mistake from Trafford that was worse than the ones Muric has made in the last two games please! :x Traff made a similar mistake to Aro's against Everton when away at Luton earlier in the season - it just spooned wide instead. That also isn't the point, nor has it ever been. The arg, at le...

Sorry I forgot, the alternative... *checks notes*... 1 home win, 9 losses and 1 draw, was a much better alternative, wasn't it?

Traff literally did the same as Muric did last week against Luton away - it just deflected wide but was pretty much the same mistake.
Today is a massive blunder - no doubt about it.
What we need, imo, is to pick and choose our moments to play out and moments to just kick it long.

Why on earth we dont play 3 in midfield with Brownhill joining the other two, rather have Brownhill in than both Fofana and Foster together I thought this was meant to be the plan from the start. Muric 4 - damn shame, I'm a huge fan and he's supremely talented. If he can just improve his concentration and cut this sort of thing out the sky's the limit for him.
Assignon 6
Ekdal 8*
Esteve 8
Vitinho 6
Berge 7
Cullen 7
Bruun Larsen 5
Odobert 6
Foster 4
Fofana 4
Taylor 5
Rodriguez 6

Might get pellets for this but I thought we were very good today against a more that decent Brighton side, yes we missed chances and conceded chances but on the whole I thought we looked good. Muric made loads of mistakes last season
Any keeper playing as a sweeper in a team with a high defensive line will make mistakes at a higher rate than in a Dyche style setup.
Popey would look utterly shite in this system.

What needs to change is trying to play out when the opposition is set in position - we should pick and choose our moments better and only try and play through the lines/force it when an opposition player is out of position.

Shame that, think spt is correct in confidence. Even his distribution wasn't up to par today and that's a real shame.
Interestingly both goals and most chances today came from the other team bollocksing up from cocking around at the back - need to change it up more than we have.

Nah. One is a deflection that spooned up and over from dallying on the ball for a tad bit too long.
This is standing in front of your goal and taking a terrible (attempt?) of a touch.

Im not sure I'd do it myself but I can understand the argument to rotate Trafford back in after today. Trafford made a good dozen errors before getting dropped and was a perpetual deer in headlights aside from one half. I said this after the Wolves ‘free kick’ in our game. European matches are much more physical contests than in our country. Refs actually need to see a foul, rather than someone falling over.
