Just saw this yesterday and was sad to read of his passing.
Saw him performaing with various outfits back in the 1960s and he has certainly 'done a bit' during his long time in the business.
RIP Alan and thanks for all the memories.

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
We have not had a player sent off for many matches and yet the same referee has seen fit to send two off within the last two months. Tonight's dismissal was a joke. The Villa player was never going to win the ball but 'conned' the ref. The game is dead! Why did I stop mentoring young referees ----an...

Just seeing the news that our top 2 referees have both been selected for the World Cup alongside ARs Simon Bennett, Gary Beswick, Stuart Burt and Adam Nunn. None of our officials selected for VAR duties.
Congrats to all!

Its not the refereeing or the VAR that is the problem but the TV coverage and what is at stake in profession football. VAR has meant that two more opinions, VAR and Assistant VAR, have been introduced into 'helping' the match officials make correct decisions. The game is still played with 22 players on the pitch at any one time, it used to be officiated quite well by 3 officials and it was accepted that the odd mist...

Happy memories of going to Maine Road with my dad, who was in his 40th season supporting the Clarets. Our Youth team beat Wolves 1-0 this afternoon to make it four undefeated.
Will Hugill scored the goal in the second half and our keeper, Harry Moss, making a return to the team saved a penalty.
Earlier in the season we lost to Wolves 0-3 away from home. A good afternoon for we Clarets.

How did we win the cautions 3-1? Vydra possibly and Barnes for winding them up. Charlie gets booked for time wasting, however, Wolves committed 7 fouls and 4 of those were by Hwang Hee-Chan who argued the case on two of them but escapes a caution.
