Plenty of clubs have billionaires or are essentially franchise clubs

We don't, and we have a huge debt repayment issue

We also have some very capable premier league players, which is why they are moving for what are very good fees at championship level
So that's a no then.

Surely Dwight doesn’t have a release clause in his contract?

Realist here.

If we were to lose Taylor and one of McNeil/Cornet then I'll be having a flutter on relegation.

The clearout has gone beyond sensible. Stick Hennessy back in there and a defence lead by Collins with Pieters as utility backup would look a bit more like.

Bottom half as it stands.

People seem extremely willing to accept that this is going to be a rebuilding season where promotion isn't the aim It'd be just as well not to mention that in the blurb on the ST sales page. If I thought for one minute that the club weren't arsed about promotion I wouldn't set foot in the place.

Coventry have spent most of the last 10 seasons grubbing around the lower leagues whilst trying to hang on to their souless, two thirds - empty football ground cum shopping centre.

We've spent most of it in the Premier League.

We're a big deal at this level. For now at least.
They, simply, aren't.
