It's happened once before, in 1960-61. Tottenham in the F. A. Cup, Villa in the League Cup.

Lancashire are having a poor season.
Winless in the Championship, and three Blast defeats in a row.
I know we're missing Keaton Jennings, but something is not right at Old Trafford.

Thanks for your good wishes everyone. Yes, I did post on Clarets Mad, and I will always remember the kindness of people on there ( and this includes you CT!) at the time. Re: Play off final 2009 - did you enjoy it?
No, not really. Six days before the match, I was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus. I made the mistake of going.online and reading that the one year survival rate from the date of diagnosis was 25%. I didn't really feel like going to the final, but I'd got my train and match ticket, and my hot...

I think Dean Smith had a game plan here. Keep Newcastle out for 70 minutes, then bring your most creative/dangerous players on and go for it in the last 20 minutes. If they had tried to attack from the off, they'd have been stuffed. To be fair to Smith, it nearly worked, with that Pope save near the...

There are nine teams involved in the relegation battle. Six of those will stay up. With a few additions during the summer, we can compete with those six, plus the two coming up with us, plus the likes of Villa, Fulham and Brentford.
