Brilliant news if this is true. In my opinion not much different to the last incumbent and probably not as likely to attract the superstar players as some of the big names mentioned previously. Also not sure he will have the backbone to handle the expectations if things go tits up.

I think as we became more desperate with time running out we were more inclined to use long balls. I have no particular love for Liverpool but I have say I enjoyed that. I almost enjoyed the after match bickering, but Sky spoil it as usual with their emphasis on why the glory boys can't always be unbeatable. Maybe they should spend more money.

I am surprised Gilmour is not playing for Norwich. When I saw him playing for Chelsea last season or indeed in the Euros against England (for Scotland) he looked outstanding.

I have no problem with taking on Barkley on loan but worry that we may putting our eggs all into one basket. The squad needs some new faces though out to catch up on under investment over the last few years, financing Barkley’s wages might restrict any long term recruitment.
