New Book - History of Irish Football

I know there are a few Irish Clarets on here - whether it's by birth, marriage, emigration to the Emerald Isle, whatever. A mate of mine, Alan Hannify, has spent lockdown writing a book about the history of Irish football through the prism of 12 pivotal football matches involving the national side. ...

I know this isn't how it's done, I'd always like the points deduction to be in current season, limited to the minimum number of points that relegate the club and then the balance that is left deducted in the following season. So, if a club finishes in bottom three, before points deduction, they hav...

Wade Elliott - scored in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th tiers with Bournemouth; 1st and 2nd tiers with Burnley.

They could change it back to its original name of Marsden. No need to erase history, just revert to a previous name. Bit like a divorce.

Been to Australia twice and loved it. Always remember taking some verbals from a loud-mouthed local in a small bar in Cairns who claimed that Poms can't hold their beer. We drank him under the table, much to the amusement of the bar owner.

Tony, what's the story behind the sale of Wayne Biggins? Did Cavanagh not rate him or was it Biggins who was agitating for a move? I remember being gutted that he'd been sold as he was the only person likely to score goals in that team. Thinking about it, Norwich really pulled our trousers down that...

Three highlights of that season:

1) Neil Grewcock scoring a 25 yarder at Burnden Park
2) Scoring two goals in a minute to beat Preston at home
3) Putting seven past Rotherham's Bobby Mimms.

Other than that, an absolute disaster of a season.
