I felt for him tonight. He ended up trying a little too hard and became too inconsistent. His touch at times was excellent and he’d pick the right pass (when others may have spun and been greedy). But then he’d try a flick and it wouldn’t come off, or he’d rush onto the ball and it would bounce off....

I forgot add for my team. If Beyer is fit he starts and I would then start Maatsen. Without Beyer (just for this one) I would go with Taylor to start for the experience and physicality that maybe needed.

I’ve never been a Barnes fan boy (if that is such a thing) but he was absolutely brilliant today without scoring. He led the line, withheld pressure, switched play, brought others into the game, defended when needed. I’ll do my ratings tomorrow when I’ve got a moment…. But today Barnes was brilliant

Only managed to catch the second half so no ratings from me. But i thought I would just say, Barnes and Taylor were superb. McNally started the half tentative and wayward but grew into it and his leaps for headers and the covering run and tackle were superb
