Cheers for that mate. So if I am understanding right it's another level of management whose remit is whatever the club wants it to be but one that should, if it works, relieves the manager of some tasks that take up too much non-footballing time? Sounds like a plan but presumably they won't come ch...

This seems like quite a grand conclusion considering we've only used it twice this season with Defour (around whom it is based), and both those games have been against title contenders.HiroshimaClaret wrote:`12 months ago`

I actually meant a double substitution. These are details though - it's just a case of swapping your own judgment of what is "right" tactically, for Dyche's. The shape Dyche adopted on Sunday, before and after the first change, is exactly the shape that worked brilliantly for us 12 months ago, and ...

I must say that looks a very strong shortlist. Hammond was very much the template for this sort of role when he was doing it at Reading a decade ago - he nearly replaced David Dein at Arsenal. Mike Rigg also has excellent pedigree (although if you wanted to be critical you'd question why he's ended ...

I'm pretty sure you can overthink our form this season, and in particular our "effort" levels. Players who are out of confidence and form do look more hesitant, and they retreat into their comfort zone rather than being more proactive about their defending. IMO we are still getting 'overrun' in central midfield and we need to solve this problem asap. We could move away from our rather predictable 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2 by trying a more narrow 4-3-2-1 lineup e.g. Westwood - Defour - Cork (McNeil) - - - -JBG - - - - - - Brady - - - - - Centre forward Vydra an...

The team looks flat. That's not about today or last week, although we all know we were far more competitive against the best sides last season that we have been so far this year. Kante has been playing narrow on the right side of a central 3 for Chelsea - he's one of the players who has looked less comfortable in Sarri's set up.
