A few things stand out in the memory that day.
How windy it was, how our goal as a replica of the move for the Stags' first goal in the reverse fixture at the Turf earlier in the season, and that it was a bit tasty on Quarry Lane (I think) after the match.
Huge Claret following that day.

We used to keep the strips for two seasons in the 90s and the last time I recall us retaining the same strip for another season was the battenburg cake affair of 1996/97, with Inchy as manager, and 1997/98, the Waddle season.

Since then I think it's been a new one each season

Tells two intertwined stories. One from 1963 about the investigation in to a missing girl, and another from the present day as a reporter writing about the investigation gets curious when the police officer involved doesn't cooperate

I was in my usual position at the front of the Bee Hole, I can clearly remember the pre Bob Lord Stand hoardings along the touchline and what I always remembered as an elegant finish by Dobbo for his goal. Doesn't look quite so elegant from the picture.

These match reviews are great, Tony. Thank you. 72-73 was my first season watching The Clarets with my Dad, standing on The Longside. Reading them bring back some fantastic memories, especially as my Dad is no longer here. UTC Absolutely agree. They bring back so many childhood memories for me.

Peter Lorimer was a great player for Leeds, and his sad news follows the news of Gordon McQueen's dementia. I remember him and Ray Hankin getting sent off when we beat Leeds back in the 70's. I recall a train trip there with Selwyn back the 80s.Think we came back from 2 down to win 3-2.

It's the kit that did it now there's a full change every year. Recognise which season the kit is from then it's a matter of familiarity of who we played that season and the respective stadia.
