Agreed Roy, we had a small squad in 59/60 who we relied on, Mac was irreplaceable, White, Ian Lawson and Ron Fenton were pale imitations.

Leeds goalie Ted Burgin later moved to Rochdale. His first game was fogged off/abandoned, no-one told Ted and he had difficulty finding his way back to the Spotland dressing room! There were no buses and me and my brother had to walk home to Hollingworth Lake.

Newcastle itself returned 3 Labour MPs all with comfortable if reduced majorities. There are no Tories on Newcastle City Council and it must be 15-20 years since the blues were run out of the city. A mate of mine and Sheffield United supporter is currently mayor.

A well written article registering genuine concern by a Newcastle supporter. Away fans deserve something better than this, yes the cricket field stand is old with ancient facilities and access but we owe fellow fans safe viewing when they visit TM.

A lot of moaning from Steve Bruce, Newcastle a poor "big club" devoid of goal scorers, lucky to be level with the Clarets in PL.

Incredibly bunched scores particularly at the bottom, only 0.31 difference covers 7 players from Barnes to Wood. This is what averaging does, difficult to highlight standout performers though clearly Tarks has impressed many.
