I don't know why people are acting like this is positive news, gutted for Pope, would've likely been the biggest achievement in his personal career, starting for his country at the Euros.

I think the communication from Heaton was his best attribute, loudest voice on the pitch. Pope has picked that up too but also Pope commands his 6 yard box like very few others.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 3:46 pmMind you, Joe Hart didn't seem able to organise our back four while Tom and Nick have found it much easier.

Standard PL, you could be right, but he's definitely at the top end of the quality scale in our squad. However if he wants to go, and assuming we get a reasonable fee, we shouldn't stand in his way. For sure, I'd argue whatever central defenders we have starting will be at the top end of any qualit...

We are honouring the contract we gave him quite simply. We may not like the return we're getting on the investment, but that's football and the risks involved. I don’t think it’s been downhill since that goal. In the following season he was a major influence in the team until the injury. Yes, that was the switch over time as Chelsea and Man City were still building their squads. Fergie saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship. Is it a decent season for them? Didn't their owners set out some wildly optimistic targets; Europe then CL within 4 years or something? I don't care what the owners set out, a solid midtable finish is about right for them especially after they lost one of the best strikers in the league to injury.
