Re: Thoughts on the City game

From my perspective we were doomed from the outset as VK set his side up to play the same way as they normally do. Going head to head with such a formidable team was bound to end in abject failure. I think he got it wrong but he just couldn't bring himself to "park the bus" at his old club in front...

Glad you picked up on that as I didn’t think anyone would be tuning into our comms! That’s quite positive and nice to hear from him. The most interesting insight of note from the game vs City

THB openly saying in commentary that: - if he is to go out on loan next season he only wants it to be Burnley - if he doesn’t go out on loan and is not in first team reckoning he would prefer to play PL football with Burnley I thought that was a very clear declaration. Pep famously does not like pla...

Retrospectively I would have liked to have seen JayRod in this game. That, plus the lesson learned for me, not from our play but from theirs is to look for more incisive inside balls rather than recycle. For example, Roberts makes inside runs all the time in the championship, and we don’t find him t...

IMHO it wasn’t so much being overrun in midfield, it was the ability to make inside runs and have the players to spot them to play the ball. We don’t do that as often as I’d like - we tend to recycle, and I think that’s the difference between the championship and the PL

I wouldn't go as far as excellent, he was often wasteful with the ball, not finding his pass, but 100% better than the PL Barnes. Reading Hull's Not606 message board and there's even suggestions of needing him specifically/someone like him
