Re: 14 Years Ago Today: Play-Off Semi Final Vs Reading
It's taken until Benson's winner at Ewood to challenge Paterson's goal as the most exciting I've seen supporting us. And I enjoyed Paterson's more because I was in the away end so could go bonkers unlike at Ewood where I, and some other undercover Clarets, were surrounded by home fans so couldn't c...

The fact that people are doubting whether Wednesday is a bigger club shows their demise. A true city club, huge (now dilapidated) ground, huge following proud history. I think you look to the young ones who have the highest potential. For me that is Muric. Al Dakil, Zaroury, Beyer, Twine and Maatesen(if he is with us).

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
All the talk is always about transfer fees. I think salaries are just as important if not more so. Fees are spread over several years in the books and also with our model there is the hope that we will recover or improve on the amount we spend. We got rid of quite a lot off the wage bill last summer...

I think Cork getting that little bit older is the reason we weren’t as physical in the Prem. He is tall, good in the air and robust in the challenge. I think he will only be a bit player next season so we need a player similar to prime Cork for me.

Barnes, Muric, Beyer and Roberts are all worthy but for me after the first couple of times I saw him it has to be Benson. He got kicked out of the game a couple of times and I thought it would all be too physical for him. Whether it is folklore or it really happened the story was Vinny asked the ful...

Funny to look back to my thoughts at the time. I thought Waddle had turned a corner and would be ok as manager the next season. But I was glad it was Stan who took over. One of a string of great managers we have had since. To me only Laws and to a lesser extent Howe have disappointed since.

BUT he is nowhere near the player he was and whilst it would sell shirts and get us international recognition I doubt it would be a success on the pitch.

I will leave this to Vinny. He will speak to Wout and between them they will decide whether he has a future here. If they both agree he has then he gets my FULL support. No niggly “he’s a wrong un” when he has a bad game. If he plays for us ever again then he gets a clean slate.

I find myself with similar emotions to Bolton after the Coyle saga. Historically I have a relative soft spot for the club but they screwed us so let karma take its course.
Them following Bolton into the 3rd tier would be fitting. And every misfortune leads to a feeling of schadenfreude.
