I get the points made above, but there is an argument along the lines of if there's no tv licence then the BBC has adverts. There is only so much ad money to go around so the quality will get worse. Not sure what the solution is though !

I didn't know a lot about this but there was an article on the bbc sport website recently about a group of lads who went to the game from a village north of Glasgow. Some were Celtic, some Rangers but all pals. Only the Celtic lads came home. Heartbreaking indeed.

I had a great Thanksgiving when visiting a mate from uni who was studying in California. I don't think they had met British students before but they were very polite as we emptied the fridge of beer and then drank red wine by the pint. I know now we were behaving like arseholes
