Tough question, so many beautiful places.
In this country I would have to say the Langdales in the Lake District.
But the place that really took my breath away was Rime and in particular the Forum and Collisseum.

Driving in Florida is very easy as others have said. Recommend getting satnav in your hire car, once you get off the freeways, signs can be a bit hit and miss. Agreed, but to be honest, most papers don’t tend to moderate from what I have seen.

A walk round Lake Elterwater is a nice easy 2 to 3 hour walk. You can start and finish at the Britannia Inn, which has good food and decent local ales.

Carlos is still as good as ever. No pretensions, just a damn good restaurant, good food, good atmosphere and good service at a reasonable price.
In terms of where to stay, just depends on your budget and how close you want to be to the area. Oaks is still a good shout though
