Re: Inept and spineless

I thought we looked more like our old selves against United, in this sense, just missing that final third ruthlessness, which of course United had. Newcastle very adept at overpowering teams and snuffing them out as we saw last week, plus I think that's five clean sheets in a row for them. I'm keep...

Trafford 8 - his save from the diving header was outstanding Roberts 6 - looks ponderous at times like he needs more time to think AAD 6 - one point up for the header at goal minus one for the penalty, considering how much pressure they were under either with or without the ball I thought both centr...

Re: Inept and spineless

Fifth clean sheet in succession for the Mags underlines how tough it was to get at Newcastle and even if you break through Nick Pope fills the goal as he did with that early chance and then made a brilliant save from that header in the second half. One thing that stood out for me was that before the...

I remember Popey as the scrawny youth depicted above when I lived in Bury St Edmunds. I saw him make a couple of rare first team appearances for B...

For me the late goal was a reward for all those fans who stayed on to the end of the game. Despite being four goals down it was a defiant gesture from our players.

The other was the lovely drive home across the Pennines in the evening autumnal sunshine.

IF Everton sign Adams from Southampton and McNeil and Harrison are available the Toffees could have a whole new front line that might enable them to take six points off Wolves and the the Blades.

You feel it won’t be long before Sean starts selecting two goalies on the bench to make his point and cover his jacksy.

He’s lost Mina and Coady so he has to play Keane with Tarky, if either get injured or suspended they could be in even more trouble.

I presume you're going off goals scored, in which case statistically Ben Mee was a better striker in the EPL than Jay Rod and Foster over the last couple of seasons, so you've not really thought that one through.
Do you reckon Kompany & Bellamy have "not really thought that one through" as well?

None of our centre forwards are proven at PL level, so there's no comparable using that metric. According to the Molineaux fan web site Collins is likely to go for circa Brentford for £25 million so there won’t be much profit for Burnley even if there is a sell in clause.

Of more interest is that Wolves seem to be offloading players to “balance the books”
