I don’t think cowards is too strong a word. Just watching MOTD, Brownhill turns his back on the first goal and Taylor on the fourth. It happens with different players nearly every week. They are a bunch of gutless mard arses who would rather concede a goal than get hurt by the ball.

Shearer’s right, but it’s hardly news. I actually think our bigger problem is at the other end. We don’t score enough, so too much focus is on our defence. Yesterday was a prime example. We miss 3-4 gilt edged chances and all the analysis from Shearer is on our defensive frailties. Not sure I agree...

Amdouni has probably contributed to as many conceded goals as Trafford. Amdouni flinches for the cross in for number three and turns his body away from the ball. The idea when you are defending is to get in the way of the ball not avoid it. At corners they might as well put him on the half way line...

Just to clarify, he was left out for the Chelsea game and Vitinho brought in presumably because VK thought the Brazilian’s pace would negate Sterling. Roberts was then re-instated for the Brentford away trip.

Not a Burnley game but I was in attendance for village side Histon 1 vs 0 Leeds United.

Perhaps the most memorable Burnley game was away vs Derby in the FA Cup replay following the game that was fogged off in 1992. Shilton in the nets for Derby with Tinman on the wing.

With reference to the Crown Prosecution Service my understanding is that only a small percentage of the cases were taken up by the CPS the vast majority of prosecutions were instigated privately by the Post Office.
