Not sure if anyone watched the Adam Curtis doc on the fall of the Soviet Union and the rise of Putin. Not sure how us piling in would have helped to make Russia more stable. More likely it would have had the opposite effect and reinforced their view that the west is against them, playing into the hands of the nut jobs even more.

I think the best possible outcome is a protracted struggle which draws Russia away from Ukraine where the army are eventually victorious. And the generals then take power realising that Putin's time is up allowing for a transition of power. Wishful thinking maybe but all of those in the military wil...

Either way it's a huge development surely. The Russians are already spread along a very long defensive line without taking Wagner troops out of the equation.

I had exactly the same issue. In the end I just cancelled the direct debit payment with my bank so the money wouldn't come out. The website is truly terrible.

Think a lot of Clarets will have a soft spot for Carlisle just because of that amazing day out in the 4th division championship winning season. Plus they are a club that seems to perennially under achieve. Real potential there if they get it right.
