Fingers crossed, but it seems it was also suggested that Newcastle were not messing about and they were quickly prepared to move onto other targets if progress wasn't made quickly.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 5:10 pmIf a fee has been agreed this quickly, that does rather suggest we've got what we wanted

Listened to quite a few of these now, some excellent ones. Usually skip the first 6-8 mins of the 3 of them waffling.
Some brilliant stories of Ternent, Wesley, Warnock and Pardew throughout. Some of the stuff the players got up to, funny, but never get away with any if it these days!

it's a boring argument, been done to death, nobody cares. Pickford hasn't let England down, he remains number 1. Rashford wasn't in the last squad you donut, Bowen was instead. Maguire another who is excellent for England, had a really poor season at United. Fortunate there aren't many internationa...

Dier should be in the squad right now. Maguire is his guy, always done well for England and GS. Kane was brilliant towards the end of last season, him and Son were truly super. Pickford, I don't get the weird hate from Burnley fans, you can think Pope's better that's fine but to discredit Pickford ...

Lots of positions to be filled, including those likely to leave us like Weghorst, Pope and Cornet.
Similar to a poster above I thought Gomez Mancini looked a good prospect, especially in the Pre season games last year when he featured.
Going to have to get a wriggle on!

He seemed an upgrade on Wood for me. Just for his off the ball work and pressing. If Wood wasn't scoring it always seemed like he was hardly in the game at all where as Wout did still have an effect on the game in other areas. The mai problem was we needed goals from him and he didn't produce.

Although he puts himself about, he is nowhere near prolific enough for what we are going to need this season. Depending on what his wages are, assuming it's still significant from our time in the Prem, then the wages might have been best spendt elsewhere. That said if a trigger was hit and he chose ...

I had no idea about in the ground but Phil Bird thought Guimarães had elbowed Roberts and on the replay he certainly puts his forearm in Roberts face and it should have been a red card for me - I have no idea why that didn't go to VAR. I thought for the first 10-15 minutes Newcastle didn't really seem to be up for it, but we sat so deep we allowed them to play the ball around and create chances. Then the penalty happened. At that point it seemed to change and they wanted to win. Maybe if we had come out all guns blazing and manage...

I have heard numerous players mention when he was their manager, on various podcasts, and they all came to the same conclusion that he was weak and had poor man management, often got bullied by the players. Surprising when you think of the type of player he was.
