Re: The cost of playing out badly
I think this is about the most sensible and reasonable post on this thread. I can’t remember any other mistakes like yesterday. The only passing it out error that immediately springs to mind is the Trafford one to Brownhill, but I’m sure there’s others my coping mechanisms have put in to the deepes...

Re: Post match interviews v Everton
Interesting debate about Kompany and Dyche above, but it is harsh to call Everton a terrible team. They are TOP on expected goals scored from set pieces, near bottom on expected goals conceded. These stats show they do what is needed. Ugly but effective, as ever from Dyche. They would never go down...

Re: O'Shea ball control
It's never a red card that, doesn't deny a goalscoring opportunity, it's just a mistimed tackle, a yellow at worst. It's Oliver though, who consistently makes wrong big decisions because he doesn't give himself time to think about the situation. Proper toaster pocket ref. Certainly not denying a go...

We were the better side in first half. Muric's huge error obviously changed the game, not helped by O'Shea that followed.

They have to or we are royally screwed. I'm caught between being completely baffled how much of a pigs ear they made of it in the summer and having faith in them to bounce back next season. Logic says we should but last summer does make me concerned - I just can't figure out how 'smart' people in K...

We don't have the technical ability to play out of the back as much as we do. It's led to far too many mistakes. Yesterday’s being the worst of the lot.

You would have to be pretty naive not to correlate the fact that previous owners didn't spend anything for a couple of seasons just prior to a leveraged buyout. Or the fact that new owners who could only afford to buy the club on a leveraged buyout didn't have the initial funds to seriously invest ...

I reckon if that action had taken place on the halfway line there's every chance a free-kick would have been awarded. The point is though that a penalty was awarded, players cannot rely on refs or VAR backing their decisions in the penalty area. How many soft looking penalties have been awarded thi...

If you don't want to give away a penalty don't raise your arm. Soft pen, but no surprise in today's football. If you don't want to give away a penalty don't rely on the referee and VAR official to get the most basic of decisions correct. It wasn't a soft penalty - it just shouldn't have been a pena...

Difference is Leicester went down because they weren't good enough to stop up as they didn't get enough points. On the other hand it is pretty much impossible for ourselves, Luton or Sheffield United to catch Everton were it not for the points deduction. Hence why they'd be in a bit of a false posi...

But only if we stop up. If we go down alongside them their side is simply far too good for the Championship. Yes, and if it was purely tactical, I said as much before the kick-off. But that wasn't a worse decision than the referee's decision for the penalty and second yellow - it was daft to say it was given how bad the referee was and how well we performed.
