Predictions of potential promotion / title

Post by Ric_C » Mon Feb 27, 2023 5:31 pm

Just looking at the fixtures and how they are panning out, if the gap stays the same between us and 2nd/3rd over the next 5 games, then these scenarios could play out:

Potential promotion
Promotion by winning at Middlesboro on good Friday (mainly because of the 6 point swing)

Or if we have a bit of a blip, we could claim promotion at the Sheff Utd game on Easter Monday

Potential of winning the title
There is a slim chance due to the 6 point swing of winning the title by beating Sheffield Utd at home (if they go on an average run from now)

However, if the current gap stays the same, then it could be the QPR home game where we have a chance of winning the title.

More importantly, if we win this Wednesday, then if the rearranged Rovers game (as mentioned on the other thread) could potentially be played on the 25th/26th April, just after the QPR game.

So we could have the scenario of playing Rovers as newly crowned champions, OR the chance to win the title at Ewood if we still need the odd point by then.

We probably do. I don’t think it’s likely that we’ll ever have a season nor a situation like this again.
