The figures are similar to our airtime on MOTD!
Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
All the travel disruptions we’ve had for so little Airtime! Most of or our re-arranged games are due to the opposition being on the telly Box!
Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
I think we are paid for a minimum of 9 games

No one likes us.... and if we are honest, we are getting a little bit precious about it.
Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
I think it is a minimum of 10 games @1.23million/game. So Everton who will finish £2million below us in 8th place will get an additional £9.84 million from the TV deal and will be £7.84 million better off and we did the double over them-ouch. I think we are on course for about £124 million
Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
We don’t concede many we don’t score many we don’t have a big fan base and we make the big teams look ordinary. Not at all surprised Sky doesn’t want us.

Makes us that much more exclusive; a rara avis; a connoisseur's delight
Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
Absolutely agree over exposure is always a difficult long term problem. We are the equivalent of a cult indie band not Justin beiber.
Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
It could change, when we win the Europa Cup.
Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
Personally, I'd prefer us to have 0 games shown live for several reasons, mainly that I like Saturday 15:00 kick offs, which generally means there's more fans on, and a better atmosphere.
The fact that our fan base is on the low side for the premier league, so wont pull in the most viewers, is understandable from a business point of view.
It really is a none story, and if that is all we have to gripe about this year, then it has been a bloody good year.

The fanbase argument holds water as long as you don't look at Bournemouth who average half our attendance but near double our number of televised games. It's probably more down to our unfashionable nature and unfancied style of play.

You know you're going to get loads of goals when Bournemouth play though. Always seems to be about 3-3 every game.

Not sure where the list at the top has come from but the Premier League's list differs.
All those with 17 games or less are correct other than ours which should be 7.
But the PL have the highest at
Arsenal 28
Man U 28
Liverpool 27
Chelsea 25
Man City 25
Tottenham 25
Everton 19

Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
The reality about televised games, and it is a fact of economic life, is that it is all about advertising. The big teams will always be favoured because Sky need revenue just like anyone else and TV advertising is all about the numbers watching, this is why the advertising slots in say Coronation Street cost an arm and a leg whereas the slots on the over-night gambling shows cost peanuts. That is an extreme example but that is it in a nutshell. It's not a case of anyone not liking us but simply that the viewing figures when we are on will not be anywhere near the figures for United or Chelsea. I agree with one or two posters on here that the less we are on the better because I hate Sunday and Monday games, they are sh!te. As long as we get our share of the pot I couldn't care less how often we are on.
Apologies in advance to anyone who relies on the TV because they live too far away to get to all games.

Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
I'd prefer us to actually have fewer games on TV rather than more. I'm fairly sure that our gates would be lower if we had more televised games.

Nowt worse than being on the telly at home. It is almost always an inconvenience. We always seem to be on at home much more than away and we always seem to get the Sat lunchtime slot - which, from a selfish point of view, is a nightmare as I work Sat mornings.

Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
Given that we receive money for a minimum of 10 games, does that mean we are quite high up in the revenue received per game televised chart? Would be in keeping with our philosophy of getting more for less.

Re: Broadcast stats for this season. Guess who is bottom.
We are fortunate really.
The money would be nice, but as others say, I prefer my football 15.00 on a Saturday.
The tv schedule must be a pain in the arse for those on the most. Especially anyone who travels to matches.
