FA Cup draw, who do we want?
FA Cup draw, who do we want?
So, with the draw for the fourth round being tomorrow, who would we all like to come up against? I'm hoping for a game against Blackburn, don't care whether it's home or away.

Blackburn for me to. Play them as many times as possible while we are better than them to get the win count up.

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
Home tie would be good - we don't get many of them now. Easiest one possible too. Certainly not Blackburn for me, can do without the rigmarole of having to play them.

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
Obviously, want to beat Sunderland first.
We could draw the Green Martians away in the cup and it wouldn't even be a new ground unless we beat Sunderland first.

I'm with CT on this. All the palaver of hiring half of Lancashire's police force and concentrating them on a 13 mile route, shepherding supporters in like cattle, then out again.
And all for the sake of a few empty heads who want a rumble after the slightest whiff of lager.
No thanks.

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
wouldn't want to help Rovers out with a large crowd. I hope they draw Wycombe away. As for us, couldn't care less, a distraction we don't need

The easiest game on paper at home. Want us to progress as far as we can.

I'll be happy just to get past JohnMac in this Round. If I can avoid CT (away) in Round 4, then I'm confident of reaching the Semi Finals

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
Apart from the obvious transport issues etc. if we were to draw Rovers, the last thing we want is a distraction from the league and a "big" game in which we have to play our strongest team risking both injuries and suspension in what would be a tough fixture - despite Rovers current league position.
A good Cup run would be great, but only if it's a welcome distraction from the league and an opportunity to give fringe players a chance.

An away tie at one of those awful godforsaken places that we had to visit in the 1980s for league games - like Rochdale, Wycombe or Oxford - just to remind us not to moan about these good times and to remember how back it once was.
Or maybe Fleetwood for the novelty.

Champ side away will do. More game time for fringe players in a match we're capable of winning, get the away belief working again.
Someplace where we won't be that arsed if we lose so deffo not Rovers.
Rowls has it about right though, we're still in the 3rd rd yet.

Accrington, Wimbledon or Sutton Utd at home. Not Rovers, even though it doesn't effect me. The hassle is just horrendous. If fact, I hope we never play them again!!

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
The lowest ranked team left in the competition at home please.
Obviously in reality we'll be away to another half decent side who mean nothing to us, attracts no excitement and ultimately leaves you wondering why anyone bothers with the Cup anymore - probably Middlesboro or Hull away!

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
I'm interested MACCA. Why is a home tie such a bad thing?MACCA wrote:

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
I don't know about MACCA but part of the fun of the FA cup is going to grounds you don't normally go to. In years gone by it was top division teams, now it's lower league teams. I was watching the highlights thinking that I'd like to head somewhere with terracing for a bit of a change.
Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
Firstly I'd like to visit a ground I haven't been before however there are only around 3/4 available.nil_desperandum wrote:I'm interested MACCA. Why is a home tie such a bad thing?
Secondly I prefer away games in general. Better day out and atmosphere etc
If I can't tick off a ground,I'd like to visit a more local lower league side where I've not been for a while so I get the good day out without the having to go to far.

I'm not being negative here, but I'd sooner Sunderland beat us at the Turf,so we can concentrate on the thing that is really important...staying in the Premier League, and the post is presumptuous saying "who do we want".

With so few Home games during the January to March period, I would have thought a few extra matches would be welcome. As long as we don't suffer any serious injuries.

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
I'd like someone a bit unusual - which in practice means someone in the League 1 or lower - at home.
Partly for the novelty, partly because I want to go through to the 5th round with as little fuss as possible.
Apart from anything else, I think I'm right in saying that if we or Liverpool get to the 5th round, then that league game is rearranged, and so in all likelihood we will avoid playing 4 league away games in a row. Even if that isn't the case, the possibility of playing a home cup tie in the middle of that sequence represents a chance to keep a bit of feel good factor that might ebb away if those league games are not going to plan.

Don't want Rovers.
They kept their magical unbeaten run as possible against us by not actually playing us for a good while, so lets see how they like it when we start doing it to them.
Home tie, and preferably against a team from league one or lower

Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
So long as nobody gets injured and it enables Dyche to give game time to fringe players and try new things, I don't mind. So ideally, somebody weak at home, apart from Rovers as it may distract us from the league.
Re: FA Cup draw, who do we want?
Not that bothered but a home tie against a top team would do me.
It's more important that we get 3/4 points from our next two home games
- Southampton and Leicester.

Rovers at Home for me. Make it £5 ticket so the gate receipts are low, and hopefully win 18-0 or something similar.

Accrington at home, they get some money which they need and could be a good atmosphere? Say 10er a ticket, could get 15k on, if not more. Providing of course we beat the mackems, surely they can't be that bad twice?
