Turf Stadium Tour

Post by Sutton-Claret » Mon Jan 09, 2017 11:22 am

Has anybody done the stadium tour? any feedback?

My youngest has been mithering for ages and I noticed they're selling tickets in the online shop (£10 adults / £5 kids). We tend to only make it over on matchdays and I'm guessing they won't do a tour on matchday...... am I right?

mithering....a lovely word.
I haven't heard it for a long time.
It needs bringing back, as does gradely.

Yes. Interesting but it may have changed. When I went we met the manager in the changing room. Saw OC before the Bolton game in 2009 but I think meeting the manager was stopped after some stupid person had a pop at Brian Laws during a tour. Whether it is back in on the tour I am not sure. it is well worth doing if you can and the trophy room is a bit better since I was last there.

Yer it is done on match days but only for those on special packages which for about £150+ includes a free programme.
The match is still the same unless you get well p***ed before kick off

Certainly still have the tours on match days but possibly restricted to hospitality. I have enjoyed it a few times over the years, especially as a kid. However if you contact the club and explain that you travel only on match day they may be accommodating.

I'd like to see someone have a pop at Dyche to his face.

I have been on the ground tour. Willie Irvine was then the tour guide and was interesting, especially if you're a fan. The tour was based in the James Hargreave stand and metup with Andy Lochhead, after touring the Bob Lord stand, for some banter between the former players.

I did it about 3 times as part of being in hospitality suite. One time went into the changing rooms to see a semi naked, but quite irate, Steve Cotterill, much to the amusement of Mrs. CM.

We did the stadium tour at the start of this season, first time after 50 years of coming to the Turf. Match day against Swansea, based in the Bob Lord due to being a corporate invitation. Taken round by an entertaining Colin Waldron. Jim Thompson was also taking a group round. Went in the changing rooms (shirts etc laid out but no team present)' went down tunnel to pitch side and sat in dugouts. Saw trophy room, not quite Camp Nou but room to add more. If other tours are similar I think it must be fascinating and exciting for a youngster.

Mrs Deeley and I went on the tour last summer - was a tenner each and extremely good value - same as Arnold as regards what we did. Mrs Deeley right suited to walk down the tunnel following in the footsteps of her beloved Tom.

Thanks for all the info. Was hoping to do the tour on the day of the Chelsea game - however it's an early kickoff so may have to choose a different game. Wouldn't want the kids to come face to face with Costa anyway - they still have nightmares over those so called scary clowns......
