Watford Away
Looking at traveling up for this game. Will be a new ground for me to visit. How many tickets will we get allocated and are they likely to go on general sale. UTC
Thanks for any help.

Re: Watford Away
Allocation is around 2000 and may just go on general sale.

Re: Watford Away
LEISURE - They certainly are and what a return for Joey. Think he will get more game time tonight also. We now have tickets courtesy of Burnley family(never going to get 3000pts at this rate lol), yep you right this game could sell out due to it being a possible WIN!!!! UTC
Re: Watford Away
Hi Cornish,
Always enjoy going to Watford, if you get the chance they do amazing cheesey hotdogs. Anyway, I called the club last week and was told that tickets for general sale will be released on 25th Jan (previous to that they'll be available to season ticket holders etc).
Hoping I can get a couple.

Think you will be fine, everyone who wants a ticket will get one. A lot of our fans only seem interested in watching us away when we play at grounds like Old Trafford and the Emirates.

According to the site they'll be on general release tomorrow, couldn't buy them online yesterday and it indicated the 25th as general release. Hopefully they'll be two remaining...

Re: Watford Away
Well they were available to buy yesterday no restrictions as usually shows.
Re: Watford Away
I also bought 4 this morning with no restrictions.
Re: Watford Away
Yep, no requirement for season ticket details. Another success for our egalitarian ticketing system.

I won't know till the day of the game if I can make it so will there be pay at the gate on the day?
Re: Watford Away
There definitely won't if we sell out but even if we don't there's no guarantee you'll be able to pay on the day.mkmel wrote:I won't know till the day of the game if I can make it so will there be pay at the gate on the day?
Re: Watford Away
They're probably using some common sense based on the number of unsold tickets they have left and that makes sense to me! There seems to be no winning for the Ticket Office, if they're rigid with the sales system they get criticised and when they're flexible they also get criticised!aggi wrote:Yep, no requirement for season ticket details. Re: Watford Away
93% of ST holders don't go to regular away games so it's not such a big issue.

Have we been allocated more than 1,000 tickets? (Obviously we don't know as the club has decided this must be kept secret.)Quickenthetempo wrote:93% of ST holders don't go to regular away games so it's not such a big issue.
If the club are going to arbitrarily change things then maybe an announcement would be sensible to let people know, although I would suspect the system not being correctly implemented is more realistic than them taking a pro-active approach to ticket sales.
Re: Watford Away
was able to log on and buy them today with no restrictions, looking forward to the cheesey hotdogs and taking some notes to turn into a match report....

The allocation at Watford is always the same, just over 2000. Not sure why you don't think it's a pro-active decision??aggi wrote:Have we been allocated more than 1,000 tickets? (Obviously we don't know as the club has decided this must be kept secret.)

pro-active or not, if they've released them to general sale ahead of when they said they would and not announced it, that's really poor.

Seems pretty rare things go to plan with regards tickets doesn't it.
Re: Watford Away
The plan is to allow everyone who wants a ticket to get one and hopefully that's what will happen.Bordeauxclaret wrote:Seems pretty rare things go to plan with regards tickets doesn't it.

Re: Watford Away
I genuinely don't understand how a multi-million pound turnover organisation gets relatively simple things so wrong. You can't communicate a policy and then just go off piste without updating that communication. The club gets so much right, but communication is an ongoing joke. If only there was somebody in charge of that kind of thing.

Re: Watford Away
Well partly as our ticketing procedures seems to have been reactive rather than pro-active for a considerable time and partly because if it was a pro-active decision, rather than a cock-up, they would surely have publicised it otherwise it makes it a bit pointless.Leisure wrote:The allocation at Watford is always the same, just over 2000. Re: Watford Away
Going off the clubs past record I would say it's more likely to be a cock up than them making a common sense decision. Seem to recall same thing happened with Charlton away last season.

Re: Watford Away
It was a long process before it went on open sale. 5000 points (so CT could get his at leisure), 3000, ST holders and finally the travelling fans.

Re: Watford Away
Ticket came today after ordering Monday. Looking forward to this one! First time at Vicarage Rd for me.
Getting the 10:15 from Manchester Piccadilly, arrives into Watford Junction at 12.30. Time to stop off for lunch and some drinks on the walk to the ground.
Anyone else going on the train?

Manchester to London trains dont normally stop at Watford Junction. Are you sure that arrival time isnt for Euston?BuryClaret wrote:Ticket came today after ordering Monday. Looking forward to this one! First time at Vicarage Rd for me.

Vicarage Road is about 20 minutes walk from Watford Junction station.
Plenty of pubs on the way!
