I was on the fence about his return but those 3 points alone are worth it. Wonderful.

I love Joey Barton. I want to stroke his hair and whisper sweet nothings in his ear.
Re: Joey Barton
Even if the FA ban him for the rest of the season, that winner makes the signing worthwhile.

I've always been positive about our players, go on the Boyd threads from last season or the Hendrick/Gray threads from this season, where I'm constantly defending them. You will chose to acknowledge whatever you want and dig whenever possible so I can't win either way.BennyD wrote:That just about the first positive post I've ever read from KBRFC.

Re: Joey Barton
Was gutted when he left, thought. we made a mistake.
However his re-signing is the second coming.
Great goal, 3 points makes the signing worthwhile already.
Heats had a lot to do with that too.
His reaction, the teams and the fans was fantastic

Re: Joey Barton
As I have said from the start, I'm quite happy grinding out wins this season my lack of faith in Dyche able to deliver enough wins added in with the style of play made me critical however after 3 quick home wins, I simply can't criticise when he's delivering results. When the results aren't so good then the style of football becomes a target.Saxoman wrote:Dyche out?

Bearing in mind he had himself as 1st goal scorer and 1-0 win it was definitely a no brainer

He looked sluggish at times but it took him a couple of games last year to get up to speed.
Welcome back, Joey and thank you for the two extra points.
PS. Enjoying the book.

Re: Joey Barton
He just seems to have such a massive impact on the team when he's on the pitch, a natural leader who doesn't need the armband to fire the team up.

One thing i noticed both today and last season,is that he is always available for a pass, always wanting the ball, this stops us pumping aimless balls up to gray, and we look more composed

Re: Joey Barton
It comes across to me that he has a lot of respect for Sean Dyche and that's why he's not been in any trouble on the pitch in his 2 times at the club. He doesn't want to let Sean down and so makes sure he behaves himself. Not many other managers would be able to handle Barton correctly.

Re: Joey Barton
He fits our club like a glove and has ever simce he walked through the door. A fantastic footballer, one of my all time favourites and I was beaming that he got the goal. I said it was a no brainer when he re-sigmed and this was further evidence of it.
A modern day Burnley legend who will be remembered so fondly by those who saw him play for us. Let us hope he has plenty more memories to make at Turf Moor, I would personally love to see us keep him on for next season whatever happens.

When he stepped up for the free kick we all looked at each other and said, 'he couldn't could he?'. Then he only went and bloody scored. Must have been written in the stars.

Re: Joey Barton
He took the ball off the toe of a southampton player in the 6 yard box with his first touch.
It's a very clever free kick too.
Kind of a shame he's just wasted 8 months of a dwindling career, but glad he's seen sense.

Re: Joey Barton
I watched on tv and it was such a smart free kick. Forster had been leaving his right side open forcing shots to that side. Joey obviously recognized that and put Hendricks in the wall the blocking Forsters view. Once Forster moved slightly to his right there was no way back, Watch the replay and drool. In real time i thought it got a deflection but it didn`t.

Re: Joey Barton
That ball he played into open space on the left near the end should have resulted in a goal. Vokes (as has so often become the plot) messed it up. He's the one who I think has to go.

Re: Joey Barton
Are you sure? I thought it definitely took a deflection because at 1st I though it came off Hendrick as it moved in flight and wrong footed Forster but then realised it may of hit Bertrand's bottom after seeing it again? Makes no difference it was still a brilliant thought out freekick either way!FCBurnley wrote:I watched on tv and it was such a smart free kick. View of the goal on this thread from behind the net. Hard to see a deflection but great work by Hendrick disprupting the Saints wall.WestMidsClaret wrote:Are you sure?
