ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH - help needed . . .

Post by rejected » Sun Jan 15, 2017 4:33 pm

Just got an email saying I have a meeting on a Tuesday at 3pm.

Still coming to game but will be pushing it for time. Where is the best place for me to park arriving at about 7pm??

You could park at the cricket club which is right next to the ground if you dont mind spending a few quid for parking and maybe having a little longer getting home.

It's the most convenient place I'd go for if you dont want to rush around pre game but can be a little bit of hassle after the game.

Which way will you be coming to Burnley? That may help with parking - no point giving you info about places if you are at the wrong end of town.

I'd say street parking or one of the pay and displays near the police station. Then you can get away fairly quickly. Not Padiham which is just an unnecessary wind-up.

I'll be coming over woodhead, around top of Manchester and then up to Burnley.

Need to be careful with street parking as there are restrictions around the ground.

There's a few "car parks" around the ground.

One on Albert Rd charges £4 and 2mins walk to ground. I've got there at 7:30pm before now and been able to park

Bb11 3de is the postcode

Anywhere round the miners is good for a quick get away up plumb st / parliament street.

There's no parking restrictions after 18:00 and theres free parking either on the carpet shops cat park, burnley league or the surrounding streets.

Will only be around 8k on so you'll easily find a spot and get away.

He is an author who has come on here to promote his book - but stuck around due to the friendly people on this site...

If you come in off the M65 then from Manchester direction, I presume the carparks around Tescos would be as good as place as any. You are a 5 min walk from there to the ground.

No problem.
As others have said there are other places to park for free but if you're like me and unsure of area it's often best to play safe and pay

Just realised I said £4 earlier. It may be £5 as he has a habit of adjusting depending on demand :)

Sunderland, saves you a wasted journey, mind you a tenner in Burnley's pocket and a fiver to yer man where you park and you are then putting something into the local community, Come on Down and bring a few mates with ya, luck and enjoy. P.S. don't bring that Defoe bloke.

I've only ever parked on the Pay and Display in Townely Park. Its a 5 min dash through the houses (Mitella Street). If I leave at the final whistle I can be Jimmy Mac to York by 6pm - straight up Todmorden road.

Google maps must be a few years out of date - its still showing the old college building and astro turf pitch - when was this removed?
