Unfortunately I can't see anything other than relegation for you this season. There are plenty I would rather go down than Sunderland, if I could choose my bottom three.

Chin up mate, you have been fighting relegation for 5 years & sometimes you have to go backwards to be able to build, I have travelled all over every Saturday following Burnley & we used to worry if we would still have a club come the end of a season.

We are currently 66/1 to win today coming from 2-0 down. So if you put a tenner on it then you . . .

LOSE a tenner.

Just looked at stats. Sland 52%, 1 shot. WBA 48%, 8 shots ,2 goals.
Aren't stats crap?

That Djilobodji fella looks awful, can't believe how bad he's looked at the Turf in the last couple of weeks.

The problem with the post-Christmas series of games is that the other teams have "sussed you out" by then which is why we were relegated last time around. It is also the reason why you are going down this time. You will probably take the Boro and Hull with you.

If it's any consolation, Newcastle will probably pass you on your way down ;)

Relegation will be good for you, I believe some clubs need relegation to really re-build and comeback stronger. Villa and Newcastle are a good example, both were flirting with relegation for years it was kinda inevitable. Villa and Newcastle rid the club of high earners who didn't seem to care, old players who didn't seem to care either and replaced with players good in the Championship and hungry to succeed. You may not comeback at the first attempt but when you do, the different outlook as a newly promoted side should help.

If Sunderland were to be relegated this season, they would enjoy a year in the championship.... Probably have a great season and their fans would taste some success..... Similar to Newcastle.

Whereas when we do get relegated (hopefully not for a few years) we will still be relative minnows in the championship and have to punch above or weight in order to get promoted.

Gets tougher every year does the Championship - Newc and Villa found that out early in the season and Villa again today against Preston.

There's upsets in the Prem that are a shock .... But in the Championship, anyone can beat anybody and there are a lot more shock results.

Just look at the ba*tards foing the double over Newc ..... One team is top of league .... Other is losing grip week by week of safety.

I think that team would seriously struggle in the championship, shame because Sunderland are my favourite north east team.
