"Karanka says the "atmosphere was awful" today and that #boro fans have a "small memory".

Time to go, time to go, time to go...

Then again, we're probably in a better position if he stays. Odious little man !

Not a good sign if the manager is targeting the fans. He's playing a dangerous game possibly having them turn on him.

I like that he's saying that his side don't know how to play long ball. It's like he's recently seen the long ball stats and decided to avoid long balls at the expense of points. Each to their own :D

Certainly not a manager I particularly rate, so the longer he stays the better. He's not good enough to do more with them.

Well, you had better improve the player's discipline then and make sure they respect your instructions
and trust your judgement.

Then again ________ ! !

I can't stand the bloke. Also, he really needs to improve his English. I have no clue what he ever says, plus reading his quote on that link he makes very little sense.

He's a bit like Coyle in that he tries to protract things that are not actually true in interviews.
If you didn't want them and just listened to him you'd think they play like Barcelona.

He's going to be under pressure because there will be plenty of Boro fans who believe they have a right to stay in the PL and that signing foreign names on big wages was the way forward.
There are Boro fans who are more realistic, but probably not enough of them right now, especially with a relegation battle looking a real possibility.

They won't want the long ball football either, or wont believe they play much of it, but if it keeps a club up then I cant see why anyone would complain right now.

Its amusing watching Boro fans whine on FB when certain Burnley fans are poking fun at them though.

What a load of bull Aitor, the fans made them play a way they are not used to..

I just can't imagine SD saying "I like to play with a strong disciplined framework and men quickly behind the ball when we haven't got it,, but the fans in the stand wanted us to knock it about and bomb down the wings so that's what the players did"

Reading the link in post 5 one of their fans say "Just goes to show how stupid this man is. You have to play the game what suits the quality of the players you can't play like Barcelona if you're crap. If only we had Dyche in charge now that's a manager!".

Just read the link at 5 and it's slanted.
The quote:"That's something I don't like at all. We have to improve. (The fans) and we need to understand where we were last season or two seasons ago, and I think these players deserve more respect."
To me anything in brackets is surmised. Take out (The fans) and it reads totally different to what is alleged.
Still think he'll be toast next week.

I remember in the early days of Dyche when things were not going well he was ever so quick to have a go and point his finger at the fans for being negative. Fortunately he has been so successful this part of his character has been merely a footnote but make no bones about if things started to go pear shaped Dyche would soon start having a go at us fans like Karanka is doing

2-1 down with time running out and the fans actually want the team to play the ball forwards? Ridiculous, they need to understand how to play the game the right way.

Can't see whats wrong with having a go at fans. We're the first to question decisions snd performances from players and managers. Thankfully we've been suberb at home this season. Fans and players.

I think some managers might criticise occasionally looking for a reaction from the fans and it can work but this fella comes out with stuff like this all the time so it just comes across like he has a screw loose.

Quick check of Boros' squad:

Valdes, Guzan, Mejias,
De Silva, Friend, Ayala, Espinosa, Gibson, Barragan, Husband, Fry, Chambers, Kitching,
Leadbitter, De Pena, Downing, Clayton, De Roon, Forshaw,
Fischer, Ramirez, Traore,
Rhodes, Negredo, Stuani, Gestede, Bamford.

Wow, that's a fair wage packet. Why, thank you Mr Gibson for footing the bill for this lot. And for footing it endlessly in the previous season's.

Karanka, quite simply not a patch, both as a man and as a football manager, as Mr Dyche.

Lowest scorers in the PL I heard on 5 live today.

He clearly doesn't know his best team, or best system.

Shame to see them struggle.

Middlesbrough are the new QPR and Karanka a Spanish Warnock. Being from Spain you'd expect him to have more culture but at the end of the day he's just another Kawanka.

There is no danger the former Real Madrid defender will lose his job, although Gibson is inevitably a little worried about the team’s position in the league.

Meanwhile, Gibson has rejected an attempt by Chinese investors to buy a stake in the club and is adamant it is not for sale.

Consecutive wins against Swansea, Hull and Burnley sandwiched between Man Utd and Arsenal should see them safe...

A couple of defeats may have the opposite effect though

I'm not hear to criticise you chaps and I know every team likes to have a bit of banter against other teams/managers etc but a couple of things do need to be cleared up. His interview where he allegedly criticised the fans was unintelligible at best as whilst his English is ok it oft fails when trying to convey finer detail, he's apologised for any misunderstanding with this.

Secondly he had a scheduled day off yesterday, hasn't been sacked or resigned, I guess like everyone he gets to have a day off (who knew?).

For the record, I'm not really a fan of AK either. I think he plays a lot of negative football etc but he's ours and he's put us back in the PL so i'll stick with him until Gibson decides otherwise.
