Excellent article by Oliver Brown in the Sunday Telegraph. Not sure how to link it.

I never knew Jimmy Anderson came from Brierfield, thought he was a Teds lad?

Turf Moor is a ragged rickety old shed that's our dilapidated home, apparently. Writer seems like a bit of a ****.

and don't forget "scented by a thousand cheap beef pies and chilled by an icy East Lancs wind". Cliche-riddled guff.

Why can't we continue our home versus away performances and survive? Repeat in the second half of the season what we did in the first and we'll pretty much be safe.

The same writer all said Burnley has "salt-of-the-earth Lancastrian charm", but sure, lets all get terribly upset that not everything he said felt like getting fellated.

Miserable *****.

I really can't believe Dyche is only on £420k a year. Maybe that's his basic salary, but I would expect his total package to be worth a lot more.

If you're taking offence at what is clearly an affectionate article then stop reading anything other than your own posts on here.

Yes a decent article, can't disagree with its general thrust and opinion. We need a few points away from our rickety home!

That is an excellent article about Burnley FC...not perfect, but certainly supportive of what the club is trying to do.

4..Jimmy Anderson was at St Theodore's, lots of pupils came from Brierfield and Nelson back then...not sure where he grew up, was unaware it was Brierfield.

I think what happens with a lot of people, on here especially, is they see a word or phrase they don't like, hone in on it and just believe the rest of the post/thread/article etc is negative. What you need to do is to read something in it's entirety to get the context of the subject. In this case, this article is great, nothing offensive about Burnley at all.

It's rubbish. yes it's from an affectionate standpoint and it'#s got a couple of nice quotes from the players but it's largely rubbish isn't it? The performances at City, Spurs, united, Sunderland (ok cup but a prem team), Stoke show that we *can* play and compete away from home. The bloke hasn't got that though has he - he's looked at the results as a list and trotted out a line - and we're a differnt side to the one in 09/10 he's comparing us to. Already more points, already showing more away from home and more importantly not showing signs of slowing up at home unlike 09/10.

Its' an ok article - nothing more.
