Rubbish. Clear pen. Who let him make the run around the back unmarked?

Looked offside, but it was a foul.

Re: Robbed
Offside is questionable but their playey headed ball and Mee kicked his face so if not offside a clear pen

Re: Robbed
100% offside - easy call too
100% penalty as it wasn't given, can't blame Mee though he didn't even know he was there

Re: Robbed
Fair point Winston. But he's a yard off.
Re: Robbed
Hope Arsenal are nowhere near the title as cheated their way to at least 4 points.
Re: Robbed
Lino bottled it. Waa getting ear bashing all game after the red.
Missed the offside, then gave the pen.
Still be officiating next week though...

Re: Robbed
Officials no longer capable of doing the job, any of them.
Re: Robbed
How did they cheat?Blackrod wrote:Hope Arsenal are nowhere near the title as cheated their way to at least 4 points.
It wasn't the Arsenal players fault he wasn't given offside.
They should have had a penalty earlier in the game IMO, when Gray tripped the Arsenal man.
Re: Robbed
It's irrelevant where Koskienlny's head was, because the penalty wasn't given for dangerous play. It was given for the kick or alleged kick in the face. If that penalty is given for Burnley, I wouldn't argue.
Re: Robbed
Was offside when the ball was played but was a debatable pen. I thought it was as dubious as the red though so I'm not really complaining.
I thought the ref was quite fair, gave us a lot of freekicks in the oppositions half when normally we get penalised. Tough result to swallow though.

and let's be fair, Gray's tackle on Mustaphi was 100% a penalty and wasn't given. Is what it is, I'm more concerned about Marney

Re: Robbed
Again 50 / 50's are always going to go with the big home club. It was offside and arguably soft but we cannot keep trying to hold on. If we'd have gone straight back at them after the kick off we'd have come away with a draw at least. But as usual away lack of belief in ourselves has cost us.

Re: Robbed
Definitely a penalty. Very obvious offside. Says a lot that we are hugely disappointed about being robbed by a poor decision against Arsenal for the second time this season.

Re: Robbed
How was it a clear penalty? His foot wasn't high. The defender put his head there. Ben Mee, with all other defenders might as well retire because how was he supposed to defend that?

Fair point. BUT hes headed his foot. Much like the penalties where the attacker leaves a trailing leg.dsr wrote:It's irrelevant where Koskienlny's head was, because the penalty wasn't given for dangerous play. Wenger and Arsenals shenanigans caused confusion and commotion. We shouldve kept calm.

Re: Robbed
Even if onside (which he wasn't) surely it was dangerous play and so an indirect free kick and not a penalty.
Re: Robbed
I didn't think that was a penalty at all. Two players went towards the ball, both put their feet down side by side, the feet made contact with each other, both fell over. Does the fact that Mustaphi hit the floor first make it into "his" foul?Vegas Claret wrote:and let's be fair, Gray's tackle on Mustaphi was 100% a penalty and wasn't given. But it's completely irrelevant because he's at least half a yard offside. Whether it was a foul or not shouldn't come into play because the ball should be dead.

Re: Robbed
Dangerous play is when you wave your feet in a dangerous poisition but don't make contact. If you kick someone, and it's deemed to be a foul, it's a direct free kick.1HappyClaret wrote:Even if onside (which he wasn't) surely it was dangerous play and so an indirect free kick and not a penalty.

To have over 13 shots aganst arsenal away and at one point have had more than them on target and get nuthin is gutting

But then you could say we should be defending the free kick better.
Rakes of our big men in the box and it goes o'er top. Just f'kin mark the men and defend it.

Re: Robbed
Clear pen against Gray, at least as clear as ours.
Linesman didn't bottle it, it was just a very tight decision he unfortunately got wrong.
We were not robbed, we got beaten by the better side.

would have been completely ignoring the offside debate and screaming for a peno.
Re: Robbed
It really wasn't that tight. And it's not as if the ball came from deep when you can sort of understand them missing it. Bread and butter decision really.willsclarets wrote:Clear pen against Gray, at least as clear as ours.

Re: Robbed
Not in slow motion, but koscielny was moving out to an onside position just as the ball was kicked. In less than 0.5 seconds in, real time, it might well have looked onside.
