Last time there was booing at the Turf?
I know there is booing at every game, but more specifically, when was the last time there were boos at the final whistle?
I should say for the team and not the officials!
I'm struggling to remember, which shows how good we've been for the last few seasons (even with a relegation in 2015).

At the beginning of Dyche's reign as manager, when we were struggling at home?
It was fairly muted though.

Re: Last time there was booing at the Turf?
I distinctly remember boos after a one nil defeat to an abject Huddersfield team, early in Dyche's reign. A game with neither team actually managing a shot on goal, yet one where the Terriers managed to score a scruffy goal.
It was during a run of four Tuesday night matches that were all utterly drab and despairing.

Yes. I remember that now.
A poll was done on claretsmad shortly after, and if I recall 80 per cent of respondents said they wanted Dyche sacked!

I remember the West Yorks Clarets meeting in Leeds directly after it. The mood was very uncharitable towards the Gaffer. 'Yawn Dyche' was what he was being called that night)admittedly by myself too). Such a good job the Board had a little more faith.

The only reason he wasn't sacked was because our board were too tight to pay him out... or at least that's what some were claiming!Lord Beamish wrote:I remember the West Yorks Clarets meeting in Leeds directly after it. Indeed. I'd give our Board a little more credit than that, myself.fidelcastro wrote:The only reason he wasn't sacked was because our board were too tight to pay him out... or at least that's what some were claiming!

Re: Last time there was booing at the Turf?
It was clear that Dyche's first task was to stop us from leaking 2-3 goals per game. This resulted in a few drab affairs but it should have been obvious even to the most fickle football fan what Dyche's intentions were.

The Hull City game under Dyche, hideous midweek game. Boyd played for Hull that ginger lad Quinn scored If I remember correctly.
Re: Last time there was booing at the Turf?
Those games were horrific. But I didn't boo and was 100% behind Dyche and what he was doing and had full confidence that he'd get us promoted easily.

Uber fan alert.
Dyche will always come in for stick if he is not winning for his style of football. Good job the results have been superb.

Re: Last time there was booing at the Turf?
As Rileybob said. It was obvious he had to sort that defence out first, and he did. But it was bloody hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm sure the board would have been in the loop of his intention and therefore much more relaxed than the fans.

There must have been sub 10k on that hull game. Was bloody freezing too. And we had two crap strikers up top with 6 burnley goals between them. Whatever happened to ings and vokes?

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you.
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too.
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies
Or being hated, don't give way to hating
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise
Although..........

I've had a season ticket for nearly 30 years and I came off that Hull game around 90% certain I wasn't going to renew the following season. The football was dreadful.Bin Ont Turf wrote:Yes, Burnley 0 Hull City 1

I was getting to the end of my tether as well, stopping short of wanting the man sacked though because I've always believed a manager needs a certain amount of time.Jakubs Tash wrote:I've had a season ticket for nearly 30 years and I came off that Hull game around 90% certain I wasn't going to renew the following season. Heard our board had Mike Phelan lined up if Sean hadn't started the following season well.
Funny how it works out

I must hace just been frustrated at the options we had to change the gameKRBFC wrote:I'm almost sure Austin was upfront with Kackniklic wide
Couldve sworn they started up top together round then and had 6 goals between them in their time here.
Re: Last time there was booing at the Turf?
There was definitely booing after the full time whistle at the home Arsenal game this season. Quite a lot of booing, in fact.

The Hull game I don't even think I watched the match think me and my mates just sat talking for 90 minutes. Looked to be under 10k and wasn't helped by the fact it was moved to a Monday for sky
Re: Last time there was booing at the Turf?
I think it was the lowest gate of that season, absolutely freezing midweek game. One of the worst performances I have seen, I don't recall us having a shot despite having Austin upfront.HendricksHair wrote:The Hull game I don't even think I watched the match think me and my mates just sat talking for 90 minutes. We was more exciting under Cotterill than we are now tbf just didnt get results. Once we start losing the boo boys will be back. We are awful to watch at home and even worse away.

Re: Last time there was booing at the Turf?
What on earth are you on about ? A season ticket at Turf Moor this season has to be about the best value for money ever in term of entertainment and excitement. What "style" do you actually want/expect us to play, particularly in this division ? "Long ball garbage"..if you actually think that is a fair an accurate description of our game then you don't understand football and you either weren't here for the 30 years prior to Sean Dyche or you have lost your mind.
