One of the best and most relieving sitter misses I have seen in over 20 years watching Burnley!Claretmatt4 wrote:He'll always be a claret after that miss at deadwood against us anyway.

Re: Tom lawrence
I wonder how R*vers fans feel about this guy? Misses an absolute sitter in the Derby that would have put them one nil up and truly in the driver's seat, then hits an absolute Worldy against them the next year, effectively robbing them of a valuable away point in their fight against the drop.
F*ckin' brilliant!

Re: Tom lawrence
He has consistently been excellent for Ipswich and is their best player by a mile this season with a number of good long range goals as well - Leicester don't think he is Premiership standard but he is worth a look.
Re: Tom lawrence
He ran the show in the first game, scored twice to force a replay without him there wouldn't have ever been a replay.kaptin1 wrote:Was totally bullied in the cup match versus Lincoln last week.

Re: Tom lawrence
Always looked to have something when I've seen him, at £1 million pounds as back up, it wouldn't be an enormous risk.
He can operate either wide or up front, and that is something we need. The fact he's got bullied at Lincoln isn't really here nor there - its a very different game in the Premier League - he has always looked a bit lightweight, but he's always looked to me to have a bit of Ings about him style-wise, and he's a good age to begin to grow into his frame now.
Connections always help on these occasions and I assume he is a contemporary of Keane (and Brady...) in the United ranks, and he'll know Vokes from international duty too. Grew up in North Wales so we might be geographically right for him too.
I've said more than once that this window shouldn't just be about players who will go straight into the first team. We need to be adding depth and options to the squad, ideally in the shape of players who can be of use to us immediately, but who will improve and grow into first team regulars over the next 12-18 months.

Re: Tom lawrence
Absolutely the sort of player we should be at least considering. One with an eye on the longer term but would be still a potential improvement on players that are currently getting on a subs bench on a regular basis.
Re: Tom lawrence
He would automically find a place in our 'players with two first names thread'!

Re: Tom lawrence
I wouldn't be averse to us signing him. Looks a decent prospect, right age, right price and can play in a position where we need additions.
