I'm not sure I'm on any pics but I do know that standing outside the ground for around seven hours is a bit much for me.wilks_bfc wrote:Anybody else got an image of CT just stood there waiting for the "bloke with the ladder" to finish putting one up before taking the pic?
They do look good, especially being in B&W with the claret & blue highlighted

Re: Our Turf Moor Heroes
The reason Potts and McIlroy came last was because they were skipped to avoid drilling in that area because of a group there after a funeral.
They are in the correct order.

I think the wall, itself, should be painted claret. Then there would be no problem with mortar leakage.

I think they look fantastic and highlight our illustrious history for all the world to see. Honoured to have Jimmy Adamson at the side of my entrance turnstile.
Re: Our Turf Moor Heroes
You're right the splash of claret and blue gives them a modern feel whilst still retaining a sense of history.

But the wall looks like it needs sandblasting or something to get those unsightly marks off.
If that cant be done, Paint it Claret or something.

It will be interesting to get comments once people have seen them from Harry Potts Way rather than just the photographs. A lot of people will get the chance this weekend ahead of the game.Loyalclaret wrote:Look great in real life, especially when they turn to colour near Bob Lord entrance. Well there should be plans to match the Bob Lord up with the Club shop end. It would be a smaller space to cover.ClaretTony wrote:There are no plans to do that side of the Bob Lord. Certainly not heard anything.
it would look so much better walking down from Yorkshire street. It would not cost much in relation to the money
the club now has.
( But Hey if they put brilliant photo's of our Heroes on shabby walls no chance of improving the look of that end of the stand.)

They look fantastic and I look forward to seeing them. Just one comment about the height of the information plaques for each player. Just think they are a bit high for younger fans and people in wheelchairs etc who may not be able to read what it says. Perhaps some of the next ones put up could have the information lower so that everyone can read them.

Re: Our Turf Moor Heroes
Hi All
My company is responsible for the production and installation, have to say we are really pleased with them. We know how much hard work went into this project with Tony and Chris and I can tell you these things take a long time to get over the line.
Just to add the information plates were fixed at this height to try and reduce the risk of theft/vandalism, we know the panels are likely to be subject to abuse which we unfortunately cannot help, we are just hoping the good people of Burnley respect what the fans and the club are trying to do in and around Turf Moor.
Glad to see they are being well received and a massive thanks goes out to Tony, Chris and the Supporters Clubs for involving us in this project. Tony will tell you I'm a huge fan and projects such as these are the reason we love what we do here.
Thanks again.

Is there any illumination at night? It would cut down on the possibility of vandalism. Also, a little spotlighting would make them "pop" more.

Re: Our Turf Moor Heroes
Really, really sorry but there has quite clearly been a cock up here because we don't have any of Kendall, Wood, Sanokho, Howey or Guerrero pics to go up. That's my fault I'm afraid, I clearly forgot to include them in the vote last year.
As for the lesser names - Irvine, Coates, Casper, Dobson, James & Noble - all planned for Friday morning. I'll once again put photographs up on here and on the site's twitter account as they go up.
