Its click bate, aimed to get a reaction.

Plus you have to admit, there are always a % of fans who just can't accept any criticism of their team and believe that sort of stuff.

"Marney actually injured himself in the challenge. Hopefully he will be out for a long time. The game does not need thugs like him in it."

Well that says it all for me. What a horrible comment to make.

Maybe the "author" remembers Marney from his time at spurs.

It's so badly written , and punctuated with all the skill of a giddy 12yr old. It's also hilarious in it's depiction of a game where Burnley were " violent thugs" and Wenger remained " a class act throughout"

Xhaka, since 2013/14 has made 155 apearances and been cautioned 48 times and dismissed 9 times.
Joey Barton, since 2012/13 has made 149 appearances and been cautioned 44 times and dismissed 3 times.
Dirty thug Dean Marney since 2011/12 has made 180 appearances and been cautioned 49 times and dismissed once.

I was also amused that SD was branded a northern thug, mind you, Kettering is 65 miles north of Watford so I suppose he fits the bill for the brainbox who wrote that article.

"Dean Marney went in on Ozil, from behind, studs up, thigh high, and ended up scissoring him. It was a disgusting challenge, much more dangerous and filled with intent than Xhaka’s. The ref reached to his pocket and pulled out a card. It was yellow rather than red"

Ha ha, what an absolute comedy article. They really are a set of softies aren't they?

Wenger doesn't need to badger the fourth official. He has a full team out on the pitch doing it to the actual ref for him. I bet Arsenals disciplinary record is far worse under AW than ours is under SD that's for sure.

Agree totally, but if an opposition player had made that sort of challenge on one of our players, and injured himself in the process, I can imagine the comments we'd all be reading on here. They'd be exactly the same!

According to BBC, Arsenal committed more fouls (12 against 11), they get a red card, their manager calls the ref a ******* cheat - yet we are the thugs !!!!

Amazing he could see what was going on the pitch while watching the Burnley bench and their demeanour the whole time.

Presumably he's trying to come across as controversial but it looks more like the writings of a slightly above average intelligence 11 year old.

I think this board suffers from bouts of claret tinted glasses but that takes the biscuit. Wenger behaved like a spoiled child, and marneys foul was just that. A foul.
I'm more than happy to say arsenal were the better side, but we battled within the laws of the game and their constant whining was that of a team who thought it was almost disrectful to try and win the ball back.

I don't think the guy is right in the head. He certainly didn't watch the game properly. I like it where he said Gray made a meal of the foul for the penalty. I know Andre hasn't got the darkest of skin for a black guy, but he looks nothing like Ashley Barnes.

Factually totally incorrect/bordering on inept to mistake Barnes for Gray and also to call SD northern. Plus no mention of the deciding penalty incident being clearly offside as agreed by all the analysts. (His memory is good, but not THAT good) Almost goes above Wenger in the prick list! (And he's top!)

Racial abuse must be the same as homophobic abuse in the eyes of the FA?

If charged then I'm guessing as a role model to millions of kids we're to expect a lengthy ban and a heavy fine along with Granit attending an awareness course?

I can't believe Wenger built it. If he did, he must have had some help because it's a colossal structure.

The funny thing is my wife used to work with Taylor in a prison and believe me if any ref can stand up to any manager it's Taylor. Who as we all know is a northerner himself.

Nunavit, the closest part of Canada to Greenland, where it's a toasty -25 Celsius right now.

Hi Ontario, I saw "25 Celsius" and thought I'm planning my winter sun break right now....

Then I saw your "minus"

They don't get much tourist traffic in downtown Iqaluit (that's the capital) at this time of the year (or any time, really). Also, it's prohibitly expensive. 5 bucks for a loaf of bread.

I once ran a tour company specializing in tours to Canada's north in the winter. However, I lost my shirt, and almost froze to death.

I love the Marney scissors red part. It's almost like he's read Harry Potter and then changed it into a football story.
