Snodgrass
Re: Snodgrass
I would love to see him sign for us, he must have seen Livermore going as the final straw. Structure his wages as others have previously said to include shed loads of add on extras for the lad and pay him a weekly figure that we can publish and say it is within our structure. We will not tell anyone it isn't really what he is earning and every one is happy. UTC
Re: Snodgrass
Surely after the transfer fee has been agreed he is informed of what we are prepared to pay him over how many years and a signing on fee and its down to him and his agent whether they accept or not if other clubs match or better our offer then its down to him where he chooses to go , but there will be more to moving clubs than just money tho its must be pretty high on the agenda

Re: Snodgrass
We're absolutely crying out for a winger with pace, and have been for some time. Although Snodgrass is a decent player, he isn't that.
I'm not sure £10 million on a player who turns 30 this year, and has a history of serious injuries is going to be a great investment for us.

Might not have the turn of pace but he can take the ball up to a FB drop a shoulder and be gone. Something we don't have. Look at his chances created figures in a poor Hull side.

By contrast, Sam Vokes, as a random example of someone we know has had a bad time with injuries, has missed 29. Dean Marney has missed 39.

Re: Snodgrass
If Snodgrass does come to Burnley, and I sincerely hope he does, then he
might just prove to be the player who helps us stay up and in a reasonably high position too
(each place is worth over 2m, I think).
If that were to be the case then we might recoup a decent amount
and it would have been more than worthwhile.
If we could get another 2-3 seasons out of him then even more so.
At the end of the day he's a proven Premier League player who not only
is capable of scoring a few but also creating a few chances so if we did get him
then I think we couldn't really ask for more.
Let's hope we can match his wage demands or if not then give him a decent signing on
amount and that he gets through the medical.

Do you honestly think for one second that his agent has already told our board what his terms are. **** me we might as well put a 20 million bid in for ibrahimovic knowing full well we couldn't afford his wagesmybloodisclaret wrote:How is he playing us? Hull have accepted the bid, not him?
Re: Snodgrass
Hull have prob gone public with the £10m figure to encourage a further bidding war between any interested parties
We have to be realistic and accept that any other PL club (apart from Sunderland) will be able to offer higher wages than ourselves
The same also applies to Brady

Re: Snodgrass
Hope Robert Snodgrass joins us. Hope Sean Dyche and the Board can get this over the line.
I'm happy to leave it to the professionals.
I'm not Snodgrass's agent - or anyone's agent. I've no idea about his "wage demands." I've no idea whether Burnley would bid and get bid accepted by Hull before we knew whether we can meet Snodgrass's wage, or whether terms are only discussed with the player afterwards. Anything is possible.
If Snodgrass has injury problems does that mean that we will pay him generously regardless of him being available to play? Would we not sign him if he failed his medical? (I'm pretty sure medical always comes after agreeing terms).
Many of the things we are worrying about on this thread are outside our hands. What will be will be, and it's only 25 January - 6 more days of "transfer madness" to go.

Hull mate of mine reckons his contacts confirm Snoddy is Burnley bound and he knows a few people there. I guess we will see if he really does have the inside track or not in the next 24-36 hours.

Fair play Walton, them stats surprise me (I just looked on Wiki at his appearances and it seemed all bar the one and a half seasons he missed - ish - due to his big injury when he joined Hull, he had played pretty much every game).Walton wrote:Missed 85 games through injury since August 2010, according to transfermarkt.

I'd hope we can make up for any cut in wages (if any) with a big signing on fee or a juicy bonus if we stay up.
I'd love for us to get this one over the line.

Re: Snodgrass
This would be a superb signing, as would Brady. IF we were to be relegated, and I'm not expecting it, we would have a Championship superstar on board. IF we stay up we have another £100m to keep improving.
Re: Snodgrass
Given the choice between Snodgrass and Brady, it'd be Brady every time but Snodgrass would still be a good addition to the team.

Yeah the big injury was absolutely massive it seems.jedi_master wrote:Fair play Walton, them stats surprise me (I just looked on Wiki at his appearances and it seemed all bar the one and a half seasons he missed - ish - due to his big injury when he joined Hull, he had played pretty much every game).
I'm not particularly worried about his injury record, because if we're spending £10m on a 29/30 year old it's a shortish term signing anyway. He just happens to be a very good player, better than what we've got, and we are very cash rich.
I think he's better than Brady, but Brady would be better value for money, even if that's at £13m, simply because he's about to hit the prime of his career.
Re: Snodgrass
If he had half a brain about him, arriving at a well run club should come before wages, if we can give him a sweetner

I would hope that he/ his agent was approached to see if he fancied the move before we even made a bid. Still doesn't mean he wouldn't just say yes so that a bid was made which started the ball rolling.taffy wrote:Surely after the transfer fee has been agreed he is informed of what we are prepared to pay him over how many years and a signing on fee and its down to him and his agent whether they accept or not if other clubs match or better our offer then its down to him where he chooses to go , but there will be more to moving clubs than just money tho its must be pretty high on the agenda

Don't recall much abuse for him earlier in the season.
As pointed out above if a bid has been accepted then sure chats will have already taken place with his agent over the wage etc he wants.
Be fantastic if we land him along with Brady.

I would be surprised if you have put a bid in not talking to the players agent. Most terms are agreed in principle prior to clubs agreeing these days.Vegas Claret wrote:Do you honestly think for one second that his agent has already told our board what his terms are. **** me we might as well put a 20 million bid in for ibrahimovic knowing full well we couldn't afford his wages
I know his agent is a Boro fan and based on Teesside, snodgrass lives in North Yorkshire and welcomed a move here last week. But will hull sell to us? I would expect it's down to the player if the price is matched.

Re: Snodgrass
I fully accept we can blow it from here, but realistically given the lack of Boro goals and their points tally, if Hull sell him to them, they are gone.
There is no way all three of Palace, Sunderland and Swansea will fail to have a run. One will, that's just statistical history. Leicester will have too much once they are out of the CL and the likes of us have a big cushion. So for Hull's impressive new manager they really need to give him a chance - and that means selling to us rather than Boro.

I could never understand us letting Tyrone Mears take freekicks when there were far better candidates on the pitch including Robbie Blake.
Snodgrass confirmed
I'm hearing that Snodgrass will be confirmed as a Burnley player by lunchtime on Friday at the latest.
You can take the 'source' as credible and if it's not then you won't be seeing me post ever again... I can promise you it's credible.
