I hope we stamp our authority on the league and scare our relegation rivals with a show of intent by signing both.FactualFrank wrote:I don't wish to put a downer on things, but with the other clubs linked for both Snodgrass and Brady I really can't see us landing either of them, nevermind both. I just hope if that's the case, we have our fingers in several other pies and do what we normally do - sign someone under the radar that nobody has really mentioned.
Just doing that will be worth a lot as clubs will suddenly sit up and think "oh sh*t.... These boys are serious" rather than put us under the "Forget those small timers who are no competition".

Burnley are 6-4 Favourites at Oddschecker to sign Robert Snodgrass
Re: Snodgrass
You should probably get on Brady to Palace at 8/1 then. Free money!FactualFrank wrote:I don't wish to put a downer on things, but with the other clubs linked for both Snodgrass and Brady I really can't see us landing either of them, nevermind both. So in a nutshell, snodgrass wants to go to West Ham, Brady wants to go to Palace, and we're left holding the baby

Re: Snodgrass
Personally I think we're all getting ahead of ourselves. Lots of people still see us as 'Little Old Burnley', no matter where we are in the league. If West Ham came in and matched our bid then he'll be off to London before we can say Snodgrass. I won't be sure until either us or Hull tweet that we've signed him.

I think we have all realised Boro fans generally have delusions of grandeur. Funny read one quoting how nice Harrogate is....they obviously haven't heard of the A59. I worked in Ripley (North of Harrogate) and its a hell of a lot easier to get to East Lancs from there than to Middlesbro.Terry Cochrane wrote:This thread on the Boro Board seems to be confident that he isn't coming to us

Time will tell but recent history leads me to take Boro fans with a pinch of salt, most I've encountered live in Cuckooland.

I think we'll sign Snodgrass, Brady and Grosicki. I've had a drink or two though so don't get too carried away by what I say.
Re: Snodgrass
Why are West Ham messing Brentford about over Hogan? Why haven't they done the Snodgrass deal? Just how dependent on the sale of Payet is their business? Are we the insurance policy for Snodgrass in the event of the chain breaking?

Info from Sky tonight: "Hull City winger Robert Snodgrass favours a move to West Ham over Burnley and Middlesbrough"
Re: Snodgrass
No wonder Boro want him - Gaston Ramirez has apparently handed in a transfer request to force a move to Leicester.
Re: Snodgrass
F-uck him then
Does he have any idea what he is letting himself in for moving to London with a name like Snodgrass ?
Has he not watched Upstairs Downstairs ?

One thing we will never be able to compete with a young man who fancies the big Smoke. Think he may live to regret going to the Hammers if he does (a rocking ship) but hey ho!

One big pay day for him at the age of 30 for and to play for an established premier league club. No brainer.
Re: Snodgrass
If we get Brady then this is good for us IMO; we strengthen, Hull weaken and Boro don't get their man.
Fingers and toes crossed for Brady.

Looks like a done deal for them then. Fair enough; its a big name club with massive potential. Still think its a very dodgy time to be going though.... I have quite a few mates who are Hammers and they are far from happy bunnies at the moment.

When are they ever happy !?!? If their not whingeing about the manager their whingeing about moving stadiums, if their not whingeing about moving stadiums their whingeing about the style of play and not playing " the West Ham way", whatever that is.
