Palace haven't had a fee agreed for Brady. Soz.

Doesn't seem like a case of one or the other. We're legitimately in for both.

David Reeves.... £50k I think it was. What an impact the lad made. Despite the collection buckets we couldn't raise it. Think my dad and I are still owed about £20 for that. We didn't mind at the time as Paul Smith popped up from the Arses.... we couldn't afford him either. Still we managed to raise the £50k a couple of years later to land Hancock from Stockport.

Re: Palace have agreed 9 million for Brady
Overly negative - you serious ?????
Re: Palace have agreed 9 million for Brady
I think that's the problem, people don't actually read my posts/take in the point. Somehow a point of me thinking what was reported at the time we were bidding for Stephens has turned into an argument when I openly said I could be wrong and wasn't certain, turns out I was wrong and it wasn't Stephens yet posters jump on the topic and post ridiculous responses to provoke a response. Some posters can't get enough of me, they have to randomly mention my username on every thread they comment on, even if I don't comment on the topic. CooperClaret is one, you only have to look at his initial comment on the topic calling me a ''cretin'' in a conversation with another poster. I'm minding my own business and CooperClaret is mentioning my username for no apparent reason and attempting to insult me.ClaretAndJew wrote:Do people actually read KRBFC's posts? NC yes wasn't having a go. Just observing that if you had said that just 12 months ago you would have been ridiculed. I'm not saying it will happen now but it certainly isn't beyond the realms of possibility.NCClaret wrote:I had to read your reply a couple of times 1968 .... I thought you were having a go!! Maybe a combination of:
Increased confidence from the board in SD ability to identify the right talent and utilise it
An understanding that this is the type of transfer we are now looking at if we wish to cimpete at this level
And maybe an increased status. We are. Is maybe seen as a competitive premier league club by prospective targets.
Whether we get one, both or neither I will continue to enjoy every minute of this season

It legitimately sounds like we want both Brady AND Snodgrass.

But very funny comment nonetheless
Re: Palace have agreed 9 million for Brady
Absolutely ... I think we are in a tremendous position, got there through prudence, hard work and the brilliant master-stroke of appointing Mr. Dyche. I will be disappointed if we get nobody else over the line come the end of the month but I'm firmly in the cautious camp as far as utilising our hard earned Premiership promotion cash is concerned. I want us to be around indefinitely and believe the way we are going forward looks set to secure that.1968claret wrote:NC yes wasn't having a go. Someone posted the other day about Sky going bump and only us and the top 5-6 being able to compete. Football back to what it used to be, but this time we'd have real clout!NCClaret wrote:Absolutely ... Very good point ... probably unlikely but stranger things have happened and one I have mused on for a while now. I suspect we would be in an envious position compared to many clubs if that happened.mybloodisclaret wrote:Someone posted the other day about Sky going bump and only us and the top 5-6 being able to compete. Very pleasing to see too that we have appointed Nicky Law for bringing along the younger players. The words 'jig-saw', 'pieces', 'fit' and 'in-place' come to mind

Re: Palace have agreed 9 million for Brady
A few tweets from our mate Jay O'Connor
Palace will sign either van Aanholt or Brady not both
Brady has said no to Sunderland
He doesn't believe Snodgrass will come to Burnley, he thinks Snoddy will choose WHU over us and Boro, (tbh he's a West Ham fan so maybe he's being biased there, can't see how he would have links to Snoddys agent)
Interesting.

Those sort of odds normally are only offered when things are an almost certainty.
