Re: Wenger gets four game ban
What a load of rubbish. Should have been a stadium ban for sure and a lot more games too IMO. Sends out completely the wrong message about conduct to referees as well.

Re: Wenger gets four game ban
What I found amusing was his post match interview. Just because they ended up winning he was very apologetic and smiley. Had they not got the penalty he would have either got the assistant to speak to the cameras or banged on about how everything went against him. A good manager, but zero class.
Re: Wenger gets four game ban
Should have been a sea on ban.

I am still scratching my head at that comment.
So they stole 4 points off us?
Can you explain how? Surely it was two?

Think Wenger has got off lightly.

That's great news for Burnley.ClaretTony wrote:Wenger banned from touchline for four games following last week
If Wenger gets 4 match ban for physically pushing a match official 3(?) times - if Joey Barton has been found to be breaking football betting rules (and we shouldn't assume he has broken any rules, until decided otherwise) any punishment has got to be less than a 4 match ban. No one was harmed if Joey placed any "illegal" bets. Football authority was challenged by Wenger pushing the official - and the "respect" campaign ignored.

That erroneously assumes that the FA use logic and reason.Paul Waine wrote:That's great news for Burnley.

Re: Wenger gets four game ban
Now I am totally confused.
At the Turf wasn't it 0-0 until that offside handball, 2 minutes overtime goal, (Lost 1 point here)
Then at the Emirates wasn't it 1-1 until the last minute off side goal, (Lost 1 point)
Overall haven't we therefore lost 2 points? Or am I missing something?

We lost 2 points but they gained 4 by converting 2 draws into 2 wins2 Bee Holed wrote:Now I am totally confused.

Re: Wenger gets four game ban
And just to complicate it even more - if both games had ended in draws they would have been two places lower in the league and we'd have been two places higher which means we'd have been four places closer to them.

Re: Wenger gets four game ban
Sure the ref's association are chuffed to bits that such a punishment has been set at the highest echelons of the game, to dissuade people from laying hands on officials.

And a pathetic £25,000 fine. That's a bit like stopping a factory worker from taking his Jaffa cakes in for couple of weeks.

Re: Wenger gets four game ban
Right:
The original sentence was;
"One game for each point that he stole off us.."
But you are correct Croydon,
They stole 2 points off us, and two from the F.A.
Making them 4 points better off than they would have been.
They didn't steal 4 points from us.
Now my brain is satisfied and I'll be able to sleep.
CT don't confuse my little brain anymore by telling me how many places
closer to Arsenal we would have been, this has been difficult enough for me!

Not even close in comparison, stopping someone taking Jaffa cakes to work is far more serious.Cirrus_Minor wrote:And a pathetic £25,000 fine. That's a bit like stopping a factory worker from taking his Jaffa cakes in for couple of weeks.

Re: Wenger gets four game ban
It's not as serious as saying you've had £4 nicked off you,
when in actual fact it was £2.
You've increased the theft by 100%.
That's fraud!

Think his personal wealth stands at something like £50 million so that'll teach him won't it?Cirrus_Minor wrote:And a pathetic £25,000 fine. That's a bit like stopping a factory worker from taking his Jaffa cakes in for couple of weeks.

Wenger thinks that he's the most clever manager in England, when, in fact, he's by far the stupidest.

What would Wenger be without all of those billions behind him?
