Logging in....?
Logging in....?
For the last few days when viewing the forum on mobile (iPhone) I need to log in each time I view the forum, which is a right pain in the arse!
I'm assuming it's not an issue with the formum / site as I've seen no similar posts mentioning this issue, so what can I do to stop it happening? I've closed all apps, rebooted the phone, ticked the 'remember me' box etc. but still the same problem!!? Help!!!

Re: Logging in....?
Same for me on Laptop/Mobile
Re: Logging in....?
I end up writing a reply then it says I'm not logged in so it redirects me to another page to log in, then when I log in it reloads the topic which I was replying too and the reply I initially wrote has gone so I have to re-type.

Not had similar on my Windows phone so maybe iPhone related, the board has been perfect after some initial teething problems with adverts.

The simple solution is to copy what you wrote to the clipboard and paste it back in, this forum for some reason doesnt always keep you logged in, so work around it.KRBFC wrote:I end up writing a reply then it says I'm not logged in so it redirects me to another page to log in, then when I log in it reloads the topic which I was replying too and the reply I initially wrote has gone so I have to re-type.

Re: Logging in....?
As the board is PHP based, it's probably a "session-length" setting somewhere where only admins can get to it.
It seems to be set at around 5m/300s at the moment.

Re: Logging in....?
I assume something has changed then - it wasn't doing it a few days ago. It also seems to do it when switching between wi-fi and 4g, walking through somewhere with lots of wi-fi locations.IAmAClaret wrote:As the board is PHP based, it's probably a "session-length" setting somewhere where only admins can get to it.

Annoying if you have written a long reply/post.
I didn't do anything it has just seemed to sort itself out.
Re: Logging in....?
Happens to me regularly but unpredictably when using my mobile phone and it's frustrating

Re: Logging in....?
If you connection to the site is being disconnected (whilst switching from one network to another (4G > Wifi), your php-session could be deemed invalid, and a new session would be created. So, when you go to POST something, the board will check your active (new) session and see that you have not logged in yet.DCWat wrote:I assume something has changed then - it wasn't doing it a few days ago. It wasn't an issue previously though, IAmAClaret.IAmAClaret wrote:If you connection to the site is being disconnected (whilst switching from one network to another (4G > Wifi), your php-session could be deemed invalid, and a new session would be created. It's not just when going to post, it can simply be when refreshing the page when next viewing. It still happens when I've not switched between a networks.
It's not a major issue, but a pain in the arse each time I view the board

Check to see if your browser is in incognito mode. This can sometimes cause this kind of issue.
Re: Logging in....?
Is that a phone setting, Aggi?
Re: Logging in....?
A browser setting. Depends which browser you're using exactly where the setting will be.

Its been the same since new year lost numerous post.
If you continue through the log in procedure after you have initially logged in you lose everything you've wrote I copy and paste it now just to make sure

Re: Logging in....?
Two problems being reported here.
1. Having to login each visit
2. Being timed out.
Certainly seen no examples of 2 but I've occasionally had to login when on my phone but not on the PC. That maybe suggests the mobile version of the board and not the desktop. I'll forward it on to DiBraidio.

Re: Logging in....?
I find when Im logged in on my iphone using wifi I stay logged in until the wifi drops off. So If im inside and go outside and back in I'll be logged off. If im using 4g I'll stay logged in for ages.
Re: Logging in....?
I normally log in via Firefox and recently updated it but when I log in now
it tells me that my log in and the site isn't secure and in addition suggests I contact the sites
administrator to see what can be done.
Anyone got any ideas as to what can be done?

FAO Dibradio - logging in
Bump.....
I'd not had an issue for a while but it seems to be back again. Using IOS which seems to be the issue for the redirects too.

I have had to log in more often than normal recently after renewing the cache last week. No hassle for me though most websites are the same.
