Surely even you can see the hypocrisy and opportunism in all this hysteria?
You said that Obama could do no wrong in the eyes of some people. You offered drone strikes as an example of him doing wrong, and i've pointed out that liberals were opposed to his drone policy. Now you're saying that they weren't opposed to it strongly enough.Lol **** off. They were calling Obama out on his policy years ago. Having massive protests isn't the only way to criticise someone.
You also seem to think that only liberals protested Trump. Not that that matters in this case, because you didn't say that Obama was never protested again, you said we think he could do no wrong. I think. You were pretty vague.
Perhaps it would help if you explained who the people are that considered Obama incapable of doing anything wrong.

Re: Trump's Ban
There's a counter-petition to the "prevent Trump" one on the government petition site today (fairly recently opened): "Donald Trump should make a State Visit to the United Kingdom."
18,000+ so far & increasing reasonably quickly- so may well get to the 100,000. On the petitions site you can get geographical density maps of the "prevent" and "should make" signees. Quite a difference in geographical spreads between the two.
Whilst Ive been writing this the numbers have gone to 21,000+ , growing quickly but well short of the 1,520,000 on the "prevent" petition. Having said which, there's been fraud involved in these petitions previously I believe (notably the demand for a 2nd Brexit referendum petition where chunks of spurious votes from outside the UK were eventually detected)

The fraudulent signatures were removed from that Brexit petition, and it was only a few percent of all signatures. The same can and will be done for this one.

Re: Trump's Ban
I haven't read through all threads on this so may be repeating someone. Apologies if so.
There are over 30 countries in the Middle East (mainly muslim majority) who ban people from entering their country who have an Israeli stamp on their passport. Let's all protest about that.
Women are murdered in Pakistan (sorry, honour killings) on a daily basis. Let's protest about that.
Women in Saudi have to cover up from head to to, can't drive cars, domestic violence is legal and women are treated as property. Let's protest about that.
In Cuba you do not have freedom of speech. Let's protest about that.
In China more people are executed than any other country. Let's protest about that.
In the UAE women who are raped are arrested for adultery. Let's protest about that.
Homosexuality is illegal in Russia and is a capital offence in Iran. Let's protest about that.
Haven't seen too many of these protests outside the embassies recently. There's no 90 day time limit on the above either.
Trump may be a cock but there are worse out there.

Not emulate, we just wish those on the left would hold them to the same standards expected of the rest of us instead of constantly apologizing on their behalf or worse totally denying any wrong doing/accountability what so ever.

Where's your outrage when terrorists bomb markets in Baghdad? I'm sure you're vocal with your outrage when they blow up buses in london, or run over people in Nice, or shoot people in Paris, but where is it when the victims are Iraqis, or Afghans, or Pakistanis? We can all play the "OMG le double-standards" form or argument to deflect, except i imagine you'll be angry if in the next European terror attack thread I start pointing our how everyone's a hypocrite for not posting condolences in a thread about a car bombing in Islamabad. But it's not really double standards, we just identify with the victims more in countries closer to the ideological map as ours. It's the same when America, a country that pretends to be the bastion of freedom, and which was founded by immigrants and built by immigrants, and that even has "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" on a big green freedom-boner in New York. Yet now it's started to work against that principle it was once so proud of. and revered for.
I hold America to high standards because America holds itself to high standards. It's why we're allies, isn't it? Do you not hold your friends to higher standards than random people you don't know?
The reason you might think it's trendy to criticise the west is because the west's high standards have been slipping in recent decades and people are complaining about this. We're trying to alert people like you who are helping allow us all to sleepwalk into the kind of police state we used to be thankful we didn't live in during the cold war, but all we seem to get in return in resentment.
If you agree with the protesters then support them, or do nothing. If you disagree with them then explain why you disagree with them, or do nothing. But you provide less than nothing to the conversation when all you do it whine that people are protesting, you are instead trying to damage the conversation and that doesn't reflect well on you.

There have been a number of times in this thread where people have used some country's blocking of Israel's citizens and its visitors to either justify Trump's actions, or to highlight hypocrisy in protesters where there is none.
For example, just because a Brit doesn't protest in the about Saudi Arabia's use of the death penalty doesn't mean they're a hypocrite if they protested against the UK bringing capital punishment back. And nor does it mean they condone it in Saudi Arabia like i'm sure some idiots would think. That's basically what you're doing when criticising protesters of Trump for not protesting also against Iran, or Pakistan, etc. Aside from it being a bullshit argument, it's also such a shitty way to conduct yourselves in a discussion about something you probably claim to think is really important to have. It's classic whataboutism as a means of avoiding a discussion you probably know you're on the wrong side of, but don't want to have your ideology challenged.
We come with facts and information while you come back with whataboutism and ad hominems.
