Score v Leicester City
Burnley 2 Leicester City 1
We nearly aways mirror SC Freiburg results.
Today they beat Hertha Berlin 2-1.
When we lost 1-2 to Arsenal, SC Freiburg also lost 1-2 to Bayern Munchen.

Re: Score v Leicester City
Got a strange feeling that we will draw with a late equaliser as against Boro last season.
We will dominate the game, but Huth & Morgan will clear everything we throw at them.
The brilliant home run is bound to falter at some stage, and Tinkerman is going to set them up to make it almost impossible for us to break them down.
But fear not, we ain't gonna lose at Watford on Saturday. UTC

Re: Score v Leicester City
The bookies have Leicester favourites.
They have not won away all season and we have the 3rd best home record in the league.
But the bookies are never wrong so 1-3 I'm afraid.
(Seriously from a betting point of view Burnley are a fine bet, they were 2/1 but have shortened slightly!)
Forgot to say we will miss a penalty at 1-1 and they will go down the other end and score...

Leics are in a horrible mess at the mo, lacking confidence all over the pitch. Were in good form and I'd expect a 2-0 or 2-1 .Theyre no mugs though and do have pace

Good home odds well worth a punt. I'm going 1-0 home, late winner in a tight game.

They have had the better of us for a good few years now and we have lost on the last two occasions at home against them
But we are now better prepared and more solid with a full strength team to pick from for a change
Burnley 2 ,Leicester 0

Hi Cricketfieldclaret. Hope you sang the Badenlied before the game with the Freiburg fans and sampled the food at the many food outlets before AND after the game. When I go there (probably been to about 50 games there) I often stay inside the stadium for up to 90 minutes AFTER the game as all the outlets remain open unlike in English stadiums. Unfortunately SC Freiburg will be moving to a new stadium on the edge of the city in a couple of years time.

Thought they looked a lot more like the team of last season in the 2nd half v Derby on Friday night.
But they are terrible at the back, so we should have a real chance.
2-1 to us

Bad feeling, they absolutely schooled us in the away fixture. 0-2 Leicester unfortunately.

So did Southampton, fortunately for us it's at the Turf.

Re: Score v Leicester City
I think everyone knows (including the Leicester players/fans) that
this is a very important game for both teams.
If we win it will put us much closer to that magic figure/number of points to keep us up
(whatever it may end up to be) and 8 points clear of Leicester.
It'll also put Leicester closer to the relegation zone.
And assuming most of the teams below us don't also win (a fair assumption, me thinks, given their fixtures)
then we could be 13/14 points above bottom three. 13/14 points looks increasingly more difficult to overhaul
and would give us much confidence and drive to get there.
If Leicester win then it'll ease their relegation worries and put them 2 points behind us
as well as keep us in the mix.
A draw will maintain current status quo - possibly slightly improve matters
if 2 or 3 from Hull, Sunderland, Swansea, Boro' or Crystal Palace fail to get any points.
So a draw looks the most likely but in these games there's always a chance of a surprise
result that might send out a few shock waves.
If either team win by 3 or more goals that could be regarded as a shock, certainly a surprise.
I think I'll go for the draw.
Won't be too disappointed with that especially if we come out playing well and injury free.

Bookies !!! sick of hearing about them and their take on games. usually media savvy irishmen and women, this is down to the southern irish accent being marketable inevitably.
Because horse racing is awash with the little people, we are supposed to kow tow to their superior knowledge on all things gambling.
What a tiresome rabble they are.

Yeah stayed on after the game for some mulled wine, to watch the players go round the pitch and thank every single fan and then beyond. Food is great. Everything about German footy is. Apart from the standard, in this game at least.MT03ALG wrote:Hi Cricketfieldclaret. 'My' German team are Borussia MG though. Enjoyed Freiburg, tried to join in and the atmosphere was decent. Wasn't as impressive as other German games and grounds I have been to for excitement and the fans seemed a lot more reserved. I was sat opposite the main end though.
The stadium itself is class though. Shame they are moving away. One bad thing about Gladbach is that there is nothing around the ground.

A good friend of mine from the Black Forest, Manfred Schmider, is also an MG fan - there are quite a few MG fans in the Black Forest village I visit. However, Manfred is also a big Burnley fan and has been over to see 4 Burnley games so far this season !
Nine other German friends from the village have been over to watch the Mighty Clarets this season. They love the Christmas/New Year games...
