Villa fans likely don't have a clue. They're probably the type of fans that think that Villa deserve to be Premier League (you have to earn it) and constantly wanting the manager to sign new players instead of wanting to get the best out of them or change things up tactically. Westwood will do well here. Dyche knows what he's doing.

Villa has been a toxic club for the last 3 years.
This could be a good signing for our squad.

According to Rileybobs, Ashley Westwood is like brown sauce on a bacon sandwich.
I'm happy with that.

I do trust Dyche but this response from Villa fans hardly fills you with confidence

Villa fans I know are top lads , and I would have thought had more idea of how good a player is than our supporters who have hardly seen him , but as we know Dyche can work wonders .IndigoLake wrote:Villa fans likely don't have a clue. Can't exactly knock Dyche's record at getting the best out of mediocre players. He's been going stale in a tough environment for quite a while. A new start in a team brimming with confidence might be just what he needs.

Happy with this.
Good player in a toxic environment.
SD and his team wil make him into a better player just like they have the rest.

Always appeared lightweight to me but he has been part of a woeful side. Can't say it's a signing that impresses me but if Dyche wants him then that'll do.

Villa fans are in complete denial. They are in the championship for a reason, and that reason is not Ashley Westwood.
He's a CM, and we need one and he's got good PL experience.

It's not that Villa fans don't have a clue, it's more that the team has been crap for so long that it's been affecting the whole squad. Westwood's been there for five years and they associate him with the downward spiral of the club. I don't think he's necessarily a major factor, more a byproduct of the club's general turmoil.Villa fans likely don't have a clue. Re: Ashley Westwood £5m bid accepted
Not saying Westwood is some sort of superstar and that they're blind to it. Just that he's probably one of those under-appreciated players. They'll realise when he's gone. Villa have been poor since they were relegated and the atmosphere around the club probably isn't great. They'll be looking for a scapegoat and Westwood is probably it.joey13 wrote:Villa fans I know are top lads , and I would have thought had more idea of how good a player is than our supporters who have hardly seen him , but as we know Dyche can work wonders .

Re: Ashley Westwood £5m bid accepted
The Villa fans I know were all crowing about The Fonz when we signed him on loan - and other than a stray buttock in the first minute at Hull City away, I saw nothing whatsoever to suggest he was anything like as good as they bigged him up to be!!!!!
I hope they're just as wrong in the opposite direction this time.......!

Can somebody let Dyche know the Villa fans don't rate him before we waste 5 million on him. Surely we should be taking more notice of them than our manager and scouting network.....

Westwood has played most of his career in the Premier League. That's why he costs more than the likes of Lansbury and Hourihane.

He'll definitely bring the average age of our midfield down.

Birmingham mail mention a loan deal which would be better, try before you buy.

Sounds more like a Burnley signing than Brady or Snodgrass.

Re: Ashley Westwood £5m bid accepted
Fair comment but if they see as surplus to requirements because they have brought the likes of Lansbury and Hourihane in, there's an argument to be had that his value shouldn't be significantly more.Paulclaret wrote:Westwood has played most of his career in the Premier League. also not strong in the air talking to a villa mate,
