He was unbelievable, his very best performance for us and for me one of the best ever performances I have seen for Burnley. Sensational.

Rangers clearly don't have Dyche as their manager.
The respect Joeys shown for him is 1st rate. What a good player we have when handled well.

Re: Joey Barton
He was 100% committed throughout, and never ducked a challenge, but I think i'm correct in saying he didn't give away a single free-kick.
It was a totally commanding and disciplined performance, and I think he was an inspiration to those around him.

Re: Joey Barton
He could get us some points and confidence in away games, some doable games coming up for a change.
We've lacked a bit of leadership and bite away, hopefully we can start to turn it round.

He really seems to be enjoying his game.
I didn't believe you could still do it in the Prem. I was wrong and I am happy to eat my dish of humble pie, with or without cream !
Well done Joseph.

What a brilliant player we have in him.Excellent tonight, and all last season too.Dragged us through a few games almost single handed last season.
Brilliant.
Brilliant.
Re: Joey Barton
Absolutely imperious tonight, there wasn't a second ball all night that Joey wasn't first to. Gave everything he had because winning means everything to him.

Re: Joey Barton
If he gets banned tomorrow, he's already justified the decision to bring him back. He's had some great games for us but that tonight was on a different level.
Consider that people were going mad because Danny Drinkwater didn't make the England squad for the Euros; he looked like a League 2 player in comparison to Barton tonight.
What excites me is how much Hendrick will learn and improve having him around. He's been magnificent since Barton came back. I'm sure that's no coincidence.

Re: Joey Barton
What's the general feeling about the outcome of this hearing? Will he get a lengthy ban, a short ban or no ban at all!
Re: Joey Barton
A masterclass of skill from midfield maestro Joey tonight. Watching him holding the ball, he seems to have eyes in the back of his head when under pressure to pass the ball, but then he releases an accurate pass to another player without blinking. What looks like a split second to decide who to pass to, he make it appears to be 2 or 3 seconds to do it. I hope Hendricks has learnt and taken note of the art from Joey, because I believe he is the ideal replacement to succeed him in that role in the future.

Re: Joey Barton
As you've all said, he was brilliant tonight. So many classy touches and passes,
Did anyone else notice his calmness in the 1st half where he collected the ball near our own penalty spot when we were in trouble... he took a couple of composed touches towards our own touchline and fired the clearance out for a throw in near the bench. We were under the kosh slightly and it bought us a little time......I've watched so many Prem players panic and clear it straight to the opposition's right back in those positions who then powers forward to provide a cross right back into the box.
It was the composed play of a veteran who knows his trade. A real touch of quality.

Outstanding performance. Does the nitty gritty and dirty work as well as great intelligent play.

Thought his performance in the home game v Boro last season was outstanding but tonights was probably even better- seems to be forming a good partnership with Hendrick as well and we just look a more assured team with Joey in it.

His name is Hendrick FFS! I'm sick to death of people calling him Hendricks. Why the feck do people feel the need to add an 's'???Bfc wrote:A masterclass of skill from midfield maestro Joey tonight. Work out who he currently plays for and which club a lengthy ban will most adversely affect, and then draw your own conclusions. Bringing him back just for his goal against Southampton which I'm confident in declaring was the goal that secured our Premier Leagur status.
I know there's a long way to go, but I'm far from concerned.

I'm now convinced he rocked up at rangers and after a couple of games thought "********! These are shite! Not even I can make them a decent side", rnag Dyche and said "Gaffer, if I can get out here can I come back?"

Re: Joey Barton
Fanpiggingtastic I doubted he was now up to premier league class, so wasn't too disappointed he left, but tonight against dare I now say one of our relegation rivals he ran the game. Tonight was worth the risk against him being suspended. Not counting my chickens but I think he has kept us up.

Absolutely outstanding tonight. Simply fantastic. His energy and determination to keep building our attacks were so important for us tonight. There was a 10/15 minute period in the second half we just kept going back at Leicester and Joey was the main man responsible.
Hendrick is becoming an amazing signing. £10m - yeah seems a lot. This guy is quality and seems to be oozing confidence. Hope he's back for the weekend.

Re: Joey Barton
I didn't expect him to play much of a part coming back here but I'm happy to admit I was wrong. He's done remarkably well to slot back in seamlessly at a higher level and show those levels of fitness. He just continues to surprise.
Re: Joey Barton
Since his return he has already delivered enough to warrant his pay for the season. The belief and confidence he gives to players around him when for example he can take a ball in our own box and calmly control it and do the right thing with ease whilst surrounded by opposition players. He is a wise player too, he kept chipping away at Mike Deans ear, which ultimately could have helped Dean miss Vokes slight touch with the hand!
I voted for him as our player of last season, I have voted for him as MOM last night. SD knows a good fit and Joey is certainly enjoying being a Claret, long may it continue. UTC
