Ranieri
Saw Vokes' handball, didn't see the Vardy penalty claim. Yet another manager going on about our long ball, second ball. Pity they forgot about corners

Re: Ranieri
To be fair, he could have said that he also thought that Vardy should have had a penalty. I like Ranieri - tends to be calm and considered (unlike certain refs such as Pep and Mourinho!). We know what it's like to be on the wrong side of a decision (not saying the Vokes one was right or wrong) so it's understandable if he's feeling aggrieved. Thank goodness we got the decision especially after the Michael Keane penalty claim.
All said, we deserved to win the game.

Re: Ranieri
Come on if it was other way round Dyche would have ignored the other teams clear pen and focused on their dodgy goal. As would pretty much all managers and most fans

Re: Ranieri
He's just clutching at straws at this point of the season in order to take some of the pressure off of himself.
Re: Ranieri
They look in big trouble, especially with some of the other results going against them tonight.
Re: Ranieri
yep hand ball - but we should have had one / possibly two penalties.
as for long ball that is absolute boll-ox.
Both teams were direct but we played far better football than them.
We deserved the win tonight - we were the better team.
I hope they go down...along with Boro and Man Utd !!!!

Re: Ranieri
Maybe I didn't hear the same interview....I thought he spoke well. I quite like him.
He didn't moan about the Vardy pen (which I think was the correct decision). I didn't hear him criticise us. Would be hard to do so as we were easily the better side. They didn't have much apart from being very quick on the counter. Vardy, Gray and Mahrez all have pace to burn.

They've still got Ulloa too, so morale in that dressing room will be great...
Re: Ranieri
Long ballzzzzzzzz. You mean goalkeeper to goal in 3/4 touches rather than 300. We're good. Very good

Re: Ranieri
he didnt of course mention the shocking thug tactics of his defenders, the wrestling , pulling, shoving antics of his midfielders.
The ref was atrocious at times, but Ranieri is another in a long line of chumps with selective and idiotic criticisms.
sod him. What a great perfomance by us, and a stunning victory.Brilliant night, wont have it spoilt by this whining maggot.

Re: Ranieri
I like Ranieri, he and the same team almost got them the title but its now 'time for him to go'.
It wont happen but if Dyche did that I do hope we would be more gracious and positive (well some of us).

Re: Ranieri
Said this before and no doubt it'll be said again, but what's the difference between a "long-ball" and a "70yrd pass"?
I'm curious as to how these manages define the difference

I'm the most critical of our long ball style at times, but tonight I didn't think we were as direct. I thought we controlled the midfield areas extremely well and worked it wide on numerous occasions. The odd long ball we did play was more precise and more of a long pass than an aimless long ball.

Agree, I thought some of our play through the middle and then out to the flanks was excellent tonight.KRBFC wrote:I'm the most critical of our long ball style at times, but tonight I didn't think we were as direct. Barton and Hendrick were immense in the middle of the park.
There was only one long ball team on the park tonight and they weren't in claret and blue

Re: Ranieri
Direct is such a pejorative term. Both teams tonight got the ball forward quite quickly which made for an entertaining game. I'd rather watch that than say, Liverpool play the ball from side to side for ninety minutes and create precisely nothing. I didn't think Leicester were anywhere near as poor as some of their more hysterical fans seem to think on social media.

I don't know how bad their fans are saying they were, but I thought they were terrible.
Not as bad as Sunderland, but not far off. Hard to believe they won the league last season.

Re: Ranieri
'Burnley are a team in the image of their manager - whiney, gimpy bunch of nerds, feels horrible to have lost to that shower.' comment on the Leicester board - what a pitiful statement, just highlights the inability of their fans in the majority to accept that other teams, even those from a small town, playing football not hoofball with commitment and skill, are capable of winning a match. I would have settled for a 2 nil win from the two penalties that we should have had, and Vokes one disallowed (IF it was deliberate handball?)

Did anybody else notice, however, that we played better when Defour went off and Scotty came on?

Re: Ranieri
That messageboard is hilarious. there are a couple of delusional ones who thought they played well and we ragged it but most have actually said we battered them.
I agree with most of them. They were dogger - as bad as Sunderland who at least scored even if they couldn't defend, although had Dean not had some weird "pro Champions" vision we'd have had at least one and perhaps two penalties and a 2-3 nil game may well have been on the cards. They look serious relegation candidates.

Unlike the Burnley keeper who managed to finish his Times crossword and build an airfix kit of a small boat in between baking some very nice fairy cakes.
