Merson was very complimentary about us last Saturday afternoon on Gillette Soccer Saturday

Re: Merson's thoughts on Dyche
My immediate thoughts exactly! He's talking as thought we're still in the championship and Dyche would jump at the chance to manage in the premier league!! T0sser!!MrHungry wrote:Total knob..... in the running for the next premiership job?? My thoughts on Sean Dyche are that he's a contender to replace Arsene Venger when he leaves Arsenal.

Re: Merson's thoughts on Dyche
Last Sat he argued that the Arsenal last minute penalty wasn't even a foul regardless of the obvious offside and that Burnley had been treated very harshly by the officials
Re: Merson's thoughts on Dyche
Easy to predict his predictions. Sides with bigger teams until proven wrong. Can't believe Sky employ this idiot.

Re: Merson's thoughts on Dyche
A pretty accurate summary. If it had been Henry winter (for example) Writing the article rather than Merson, would there be such negativity towards it?
Re: Merson's thoughts on Dyche
Simple answer is no because Winter isn't a thick cockney git who can''t read or write.Transpennine wrote:A pretty accurate summary. If it had been Henry winter (for example) Writing the article rather than Merson, would there be such negativity towards it?
Merson is now only stating the bleeding obvious - to describe us as doing "ok" is hardly the level of insightful journalism that's going to win him the Pulitzer Prize is it ?
Was not long ago he was taking the mickey out of us every week and predicting us to lose every game.
The idiot is stealing a living and has carved out his pundit career because people think it's funny that he is so thick.

Re: Merson's thoughts on Dyche
I can't be bothered reading the article because I'll probably lose a part of myself. But I think it's cruel that Sky exploit Merson's lack of human functionality by parading him in front of the cameras every Saturday like a modern day freak show for the amusement of the public.

Re: Merson's thoughts on Dyche
yes, winter is just one bloke with an opinion too, it has no more relevance what he says. Its like one of us offering a view on something, what difference is there.Transpennine wrote:A pretty accurate summary. He talks like someone who has a brain injury. I think it's quite commendably inclusive of Sky Sports.

Re: Merson's thoughts on Dyche
Merson probably has a lot in common with large sections of Burnley fans in terms of working class background, limited education and love of football. He just happened to be lucky enough to have an immense amount of talent.
So he screwed up a bit with drinks and gambling but again how many lads from Burnley in the 70s and 80s would have gone that way if theyd have had fame and money thrust upon them in that environment
Soccer Saturday is meant to be a light-hearted program with lots of OTT comedy characters like Kamara and Merson and if you dont take it too serious and get too upset if someone doesnt blow smoke up Burnleys arse i think its a great program to see out Sat afternoon if Burnley arent playing or you cant get to the game
Henry Winter on the other hand is a pompous self obsessed bore but hey he says nice things about little old Burnley so what a guy
