3-5-2

Post by kaptin1 » Sat Feb 04, 2017 10:07 am

I wonder whether the addition of Brady to the squad will see us to try a 3-5-2 formation? This would also allow us to get Tarmkowski into the side, albeit probably at the expense of Ward which would be harsh on him as he has been playing well. May also be a better option away from home where we need to block up the midfield and counter quickly.

Anyway, my shout for a 3-5-2 would be:

Heaton

Keane - Tarkowski - Mee

Lowton - Hendrick - Barton - Defour - Brady

Gray - Barnes

Is this a team several weeks from now(Defour injury) or even months with regard to Barton? Or are you not in the loop?

Not gonna happen. Our defensive record has been pretty sound of late, as have our performances both home and away. No need to change the system.

No way will he drop Ward or change the defence the way they are playing at present.

Replace Lowton with Trippier this summer and would be worth a try.

Not sure why we would want to change to such a system at this stage of the season. Seems to be this obsession that we have to get Tarkowski into the team.

There's no need for us to play a whole new system, we're succeeding with 442. Part of that success is everyone on the pitch being in zero doubt of what's expected of them. Tarks will get his chance next season when Keane leaves at cb in a four.
