Not quite in Burnley, but the glen view is good. On the way to Tod at a place called Portsmouth.
Avoid the Toby/brewers fayre type places. Nasty.
Waggoners passable.
Enjoy!

If splashing out the White Swan in fence is the best pub to eat at for miles. It ain't no Toby Carvery though. Top restaurant quality so you pay that bit more.

Bisrto 197 opposite Towneley Golf Club is an excellent little restaurant and they do a Sunday Carvery. Not sure what time it finishes though.

Not been in for some time but it was certainly very good last time I did - place always looks as though it's going to fall down though.bobinho wrote:Not quite in Burnley, but the glen view is good. On the way to Tod at a place called Portsmouth.

Agree on Bistro 197 but will probably struggle to get in at such short notice.3putt wrote:Bisrto 197 opposite Towneley Golf Club is an excellent little restaurant and they do a Sunday Carvery. Not sure what time it finishes though.

Agreed. Looks very ropey from the outside- not like a food pub should look. Until you go in and sample it. Very good. Good value too. Worth the drive down for sure.ClaretTony wrote:Not been in for some time but it was certainly very good last time I did - place always looks as though it's going to fall down though.

At pub level- tried Hare and Hounds Foulridge recently and was happy, old owners from New Inn around the corner- great pub food at a decent price. Pendle Inn Barley also good.
Agree White Swan at fence, also Sparrow Hawk.

Couple of friends of mine went to the White Swan recently (does no one call it the Mucky Duck these days?) and they said it was absolutely outstanding.

You're thinking a little too literally there Diesel...
I don't think the OP would mind driving a little out of Burnley. If he does, then he can ignore my suggestion.
And he asked about Sunday Roast/carvery. Thats either or, FYI.

What's Nino's in Cliviger like ? If it's as good as his restaurant in Rawtenstall then that will be well worth a visit.

I only ask because if you are young, then you are absolutely totally and utterly wrong, and you need to get out more. If however, you are of an age where "sick" means literally that, then you are absolutely bang on the money.
